If You Build It, They Will Come

Believe It Can Happen!

One of the single most important aspects to manifesting your dreams is believing it will happen!

Whatever you seek in life is dependent upon your belief that it will actually happen and when you do fully believe you start living your life as if these things are already happening or on their way. Whether you realize it or not, this shift in your perspective and outlook makes room internally as well as externally and as a result you open the door to accept happiness and peace into your soul.

“If you build it, they will come”, speaking metaphorically of course, because it’s not just about that movie and building a baseball field, it applies to everything within your life and is exactly the state of belief and unwavering faith you need to embrace so the changes you wish to see can begin to manifest. You must be willing and open to change, you must be willing to do the work and make sacrifices, when the time is right the rewards will follow.

belief

Sometimes though the rewards don’t turn out to be specifically what you expected and by that I don’t mean that you do the work and you there are no rewards; I mean that sometimes the work leads you to another path, one that has different challenges and/or roadblocks you might not have encountered otherwise and that changes the rewards. I believe that everything in life begins as part of the imagination and that inspires creativity, when you come up with an idea about something sometimes you have different thoughts along the way that change the original idea, that’s creativity! Creativity inspired can blossom into so many other areas that the possibilities become endless so when I say that sometimes the rewards change it is because the creativity that surrounds you is constantly moving.

Similarly you also are always moving, changing, adapting, creating, imagining, etc. When you operate in this state you are in alignment with the Universe as it is also moving, changing, adapting, creating, imagining, etc.

It makes sense that when you are operating within that alignment that YOUR possibilities become endless.

It’s the Law of Attraction, I’m sure you’ve noticed at certain times in your life when things just flow, like you’re “in the zone” and everything is working out beautifully. Alternatively there are also the times when everything seems to go wrong in a day and those are the days when you are not in alignment, you’re “out of the zone”. Most times you fall “out of the zone” is when you are resisting, likely one of life’s lessons, and believe me the more you resist the more you will have days like that.

I think sometimes resistance is the response to anything that is painful or challenging because it is much easier to look away from your pain or challenges than stare it down and deal with it. Understandably some difficulties take more from you than you want to allow but I’ve learned that when I face obstacles it builds me back stronger. I can honestly say that when it comes to life’s lessons there is no comparison to the strong sense of self you gain when you rise to the occasion.

Life’s lessons will open you to new understanding, perspective and outlook all of which will change who you are and how you view your world, these lessons are here to help you, not break you.

It isn’t until you are humbled by life’s lessons that you really develop the understanding of the bigger picture and of course that brings a whole other set of questions. The difference is that these questions become more about substance than material, more about internal than external and more about spirit than ego.

If You Build It, They Will Come!

Happy Thanksgiving Canada!

A Day of Gratitude

Although the day of Thanksgiving is different in Canada than in the United States, the meaning is the same, it’s the day of thanks for all we appreciate and have gratitude for.

It’s important to have gratitude in your life, not just on Thanksgiving but as a daily ritual. I think too many times at the end of the day we find ourselves focusing on the things that didn’t go right instead of the things that did and it’s the thoughts that you feed the most that are going to grow.

If I am going to increase any specific state of being gratitude is the best place to start, it positively enhances all aspects of your life and builds an inner strength of character that is unmatched and unaffected by negativity.

Gratitude, appreciation and thanks for all that your life has brought to you so far will increase growth in the direction you seek. Your path will have many opportunities, obstacles and lessons along the way and understanding that they are all a part of your personal journey will help you to embrace the wisdom that gratitude ushers in.

Gratitude isn’t just a “means to an end”, it is a way of life that opens up so many other doors, ones you couldn’t imagine or know were there because it’s not just about giving thanks, it is a conscious shift into this state of being that is transitioned not just through forgiveness but awareness, vulnerability and acceptance as well and with it comes a state of happiness that you cannot buy, manipulate or manufacture.

There are many different ways to transition yourself into a daily gratitude ritual and it’s just a matter of finding the one that fits best for you. Possibilities I’ve heard of are starting a gratitude journal that you make entries into on either a daily, weekly or monthly basis. It’s a matter of being able to find that time to focus and make it an important part of your life because once you do those are the thoughts you are feeding and as a result they will grow.

The more you have gratitude for the more you will see the results of that gratitude manifest in your life. If you aren’t one that finds it easy to write your thoughts down, you could take a period of time in your day where you use your thoughts internally, like some of do at the end of the night before falling asleep. Honestly I think it would be better to replay thoughts of gratitude before falling asleep instead of occurrences of the day as it is a more positive place to have your subconscious drift into while you sleep and can then permeate those thoughts into flourishing throughout the following day.

It takes discipline at the beginning to maintain whichever gratitude process you create but as soon as it starts to become personal habit it will then be effortless and you will see your life change in all the ways you had hoped for.

happy thanksgiving

Trusting in the Divine

Having Faith in What is Meant To Be

What a tough one this really is, especially for me because I am a planner, I like to know what’s coming down the road.  Even though I know that what is meant to be, will be, no matter what, it’s still difficult at times to trust in that faith.  I like change, I like the variety and I only like routine in specific areas of my life.  Unfortunately having such distinct and particular ideas can make acceptance and trust hard to manage and something I still work at to this day.  I have found that Wayne Dyers’ quote of “change the way you look at things, the things you look at change” has been significantly helpful when I remember to remind myself.  Please click on the link I’ve just attached to view his you tube video, he is an irreplacable source of wisdom.  When I’m in a state of being that is blocking my positive energy I find that sometimes I can’t summon the thoughts to carry me out of it.

My two biggest detractors have been trust and faith that what is meant to be, will be, no matter what.  My resistance to this, for whatever reason, will not change anything except to prevent me from finding resolution and peace sooner rather than later.  In resisting I cause myself to stay in that state for longer and there is absolutely no benefit.  I need to continually remind myself to let go, trust, have faith and stop trying to steer the course that is all part of the divine plan, a plan that I don’t know the outcome of.  The moment I remind myself of this quote is the moment that everything shifts into the perspective it should have been in all along.  I don’t think I could really explain it further, it’s something that you need to embrace to experience and something you can’t experience unless you embrace it.

When I do embrace it and accept that “everything happens for a reason” I find that things don’t seem to have as much power over me anymore.  It’s not that it’s no longer important it’s just that I’m reducing the impact it has on my life by changing the way I’m looking at it and in doing that what I’m looking at changes.  It’s amazing how one little alteration of perception can change so many things, like mood, disposition, attitude and outlook.  This could be the difference that determines what direction your life goes in.

As much as I inherently know all of this it really is a “work in progress” to apply it to my life, especially when I allow my emotions to overrule my mind.  I think it depends on where we are at physically, emotionally and mentally as to if certain circumstances are given more power than they should be at certain times in our lives.  We’re not expected to be strong and resilient every single day, sometimes things can get to you and my reminder phrase when they do is such a powerful tool to have with me.

I don’t believe that there is any one person that has all the answers we can only hope to learn from one another or through shared experiences.

I have to allow myself to let go and trust in the higher power that I have faith to, and know that regardless of whether or not I like or dislike a situation that it is there to teach me something and in time that reason will be revealed as long as I have faith.  Allowing that faith doesn’t mean I’m giving in or giving up it means I’m letting go of what was to allow what is.

Sometimes when you’re looking for answers, letting go is the only way to find it.
