Life’s Lessons!

Discovering the Silver Lining

We all have many lessons to learn throughout our lifetime and of course the lessons are different for every one of us.  No two people are alike, therefore no two lessons will be alike, there may be similarities but they are uniquely designed for each of us.  How we experience them depends on many factors, for instance below are what I believe are the factors I needed to allow myself to move forward in my life towards my purpose and passion.

1)      I had to be Open

–          If my mind and heart were not open I would not be in an available space of mind to be able to receive the signs and guidance I was given.  Not everything comes in the package we expect and sometimes we have to expand our awareness to understand.

2)      I had to be in Alignment ( Law of Attraction )

–          To be in alignment with the  universe and all that it has to offer I had to be in a positive state of mind.  What you think of is what you attract, if I was in a negative state of mind I would attract everything that I don’t want because those would be the dominant thoughts.

3)      I had to be Aware

–          The bigger picture is my goal and where I want to get to.  Along the way are just the daily routines and obstacles that I could not afford  let bother or impede me and keep my eye on the prize.

4)      I had to be Objective

–          I had to work very hard to learn to be objective when reflecting on my experiences, it can be very difficult to step outside yourself and look at a situation objectively when you are emotionally connected.

How we perceive the signs, guidance and lessons we are given is something that is specifically hard-wired to each of us as individuals, the ultimate key is to be open within your mind and your heart and let your imagination flow.

I believe that everything that we experience is divinely connected to a higher power and that there is a master plan only we are not aware of it.  I say this because in looking back I’ve found that I needed all the experiences I’ve had up to this point to get to where I am now, without them I may not have gone in the direction I am going or it may have taken much longer than it already has.  My experiences have helped to prepare me for the future I am meant to live and I know it doesn’t stop here, there are many more experiences that I’m sure are on the horizon (good and bad) that will help elevate me to the level I need to be at to make the contribution in this world that I want to make and that I am meant to make.

Purpose & Passion

Every Obstacle or Setback Creates an Opportunity

It’s hard to believe that this would be true but it is and believe me I’ve done my fair questioning of “Are you kidding me?”  It is usually through difficulty that we find out what we are really made of and what we really can accomplish.  The question to ask when you are in the midst of difficulty is do I want to find a positive outcome and do better or do I want to look for an excuse not to try and do the same or worse.  It’s the balance of positive versus negative and that can be a battle all on its own.  Some have to work harder than others to find the positive side but I can assure you it’s totally worth it.

Of course it is easiest not to try, there is no effort required for that route at all and unfortunately that makes it the most travelled road but definitely not the most pleasant, positive or purposeful.

I know everyone out there has the desire to have a better life and anything worth having is definitely worth working for.  If things were too easy they would be so attainable that they likely wouldn’t be desired.  This is true in taking the path of “not to try”, there is absolutely no effort required in this route and I’m quite sure that there isn’t one person out there that wants to have nothing, no one says when they are a child that my life goal is “not to try”.  Every child has a dream and just because we are now adults doesn’t mean that you’ve passed the point of attaining a goal you made as a child, teen or young adult.  The only difference is that you just alter the timeline, instead of achieving something by the time you were 25 you now achieve it by the time you’re 35 , 45, 55, etc.  The only reason you can’t achieve something should be because you are no longer on the earthly plane, other than that being an obstacle, there are none.  We only create obstacles to make ourselves feel better for not doing something we really wanted to do and at the end of the day you still don’t feel better.

Some of my biggest setbacks have created the enlightenment that I needed to guide me to my greater passion and purpose.

I can honestly say without a doubt that I wouldn’t change any of the events that led me to where I am today.  Of course some of them were so far from ideal that I was questioning the greater reasoning  behind them at the time, but all of them I can now honor and appreciate because they led me to my passion which then led me to my purpose.  The way I was able to find my purpose was  within, I started listening to my inner spirit.  It had always been whispering to me and I found that it was only when I started to listen and pay attention that it became louder and stronger.

My purpose has led me to a greater form of contentment, peace and balance which has motivated my desire to stay on this path.

If you are looking for a sign that you deserve to honor your and achieve your innermost desires then this is it.

You ARE worthy!

You CAN achieve whatever you desire!

You CAN live a life with purpose and passion!

DON’T let anyone ever tell you any different!

Envisioning Your Future

Seeing is Believing, Believing is Seeing

For myself, the beginning of this process was to first determine what it was that I really wanted out of my life.  This wasn’t something I was able to do instantaneously, it definitely took some serious reflection on where I’ve been, where I wanted to go, how I wanted to get there and who I wanted there with me.  In making that determination I had to remain true to my inner desires without compromising my inner self.  The course that I wanted to chart felt like a very natural progression and I knew I could easily fit into it without having to alter myself in any way.

When trying to figure out your ultimate calling these factors are very important, it should be a natural fit with who you already are.

Once I had it all figured out, it then transitioned so easily and so naturally that I wondered why I hadn’t discovered this path before.  I knew that I wasn’t living up to my true potential, I knew that I didn’t feel fulfilled.  There was always something that I felt I was supposed to be doing but couldn’t quite put my finger on it.

What I had been doing that prevented this natural transition, was resisting, although I didn’t know it until I had stopped.  The foundation of the resistance that I was creating was due to my indecision about what I wanted to envision for my future.  I couldn’t begin to believe if I didn’t know what it was that I wanted to see.

Once you allow yourself to imagine the life you want, it becomes that much easier to create it.  I wrote out my own little “To Do” list with the steps in an order that would best help me to reach my ultimate goal.  Making this list was the easiest part of preparing for my future all I had to do was follow the steps I had planned out, if one didn’t work out as expected, I would re-organize my steps.

Visualization isn’t easy for everyone if you are having a tough time with it, then create a vision board and make sure you have it in a place where you will see it every day.  After a while you will be able to see your vision board in your mind without being in front of it, you can make mental alterations if you want to.  At that point you are now Visualizing, and doing it on your own.

There’s a reason why we go through the events we do and it is because they are the necessary steps that shape us into the people we need to be so we have all the tools we need for the future we are destined for.  Each event is designed to teach us something and the victory is when you’ve identified the lesson and used it to enhance your own personal growth.

I have used the Law of Attraction for many years and I can honestly say that everything I’ve ever really wanted and put my conscious and subconscious mind into I’ve achieved.  Anytime that something hasn’t worked for me wasn’t because the Law of Attraction wasn’t working it’s because I was blocking it in some way.

Keep your mind and heart open, see what you want and believe in it.  The more you believe in it, the more you will see it.

Finding Your Power

Taking Back Control of Your Life

I believe that half of our issues with feeling like we have lost control of our own direction in life lies within taking charge of the course we are on.  It’s a disabling feeling  and it can cause you to lose hope and faith and of course the more you feel that you’ve lost control the more it spirals, it’s a nasty cycle.  I’ve found that the only way to overcome this is to meet it head on and take back my power.  Change that frequency in your brain that is inhibiting you from happiness, it’s as simple as flipping a light switch, and it’s the necessary first step.  I have always been a huge fan of the “To Do” list because it helps me to stay focused and goal oriented.  Whether it is a situation or relationship issue (these two are usually interconnected) , I believe the “To Do” list will be helpful.  It is likely that if you are in the moment of feeling like you’ve lost your power then you already are aware of what area of your life is lacking.

So based on the fact that you are already aware of this these are the steps I use and apply on my list.  My example is based on my goals in life and how I am going to create the process to achieve them.

1)      Write down the goals you want to achieve

2)      Figure out the steps needed to achieve them, similar to a flow chart

3)      Put them in a realistic order suitable to your desires

4)      Take the first steps to enact these goals

5)      Maintain focus and determination, stay strong

It will take a lot of hard work to achieve your goals, but;

Anything worth having is worth working for

–          Don’t doubt yourself

–          Do whatever you need to do to keep yourself motivated and determined

–          If need be, ask a friend to be an ally to help keep you focused

I would suggest to start with the goal that you think is the most attainable first because when you achieve it, the feeling of accomplishment and pride will empower you to move farther ahead and give you that extra boost needed to maintain your focus and desires.

It’s not surprising to me that I’m such a huge fan of the “To Do” list especially since I love writing and also use it as a tool for self-therapy in every area of my life.  In addition to that, writing things down and having that visual cue is a prominent point of the Law of Attraction.  I came across one of my journals a while ago and had some goals written in there that I had long ago achieved and had forgotten about.  It was a great reminder of how far I’ve come and how strong my own personal power is to complete what I set out to achieve.  Another helpful tool is to start a Vision Board and have pictures where you want to get to, alternatively you could create(draw up) a road map with points along the way that mark the mileposts (goals) of where you want to get to.  Either of these are helpful tools because when you see something every day it becomes ingrained in your mind and as in the Law of Attraction, our thoughts are our power, and we have the power to improve every area of our life.
