Follow Your Vision

What You See Is What You Get!

What you think about most is what you are embracing and implanting into your subconscious and conscious mind whether you realize it or not. The key to cultivating positive experiences in your life is to begin cultivating them with your thoughts.

Your self-talk is important, you must first believe in yourself, you must have faith that the Universe has a plan for you and then allow that plan to manifest knowing it is for the betterment of your higher self.

follow your dreams

Having a clear vision of what you expect to see manifest in your life is the ace in your pocket. My vision has always been clear to me, sure there are some alterations along the way that change the course at times but I never get so far off that I lose sight of my vision. There are times when my vision changes in perspective, sometimes life’s joys and/or upsets change the view but I believe that these changes are meant to be, they are meant to shape you so you fit into the Universe’s plan for you.

What you See is What You Get:  I think it is important to really allow this thought to sink in.

You can tell yourself what you want to see but if you really don’t believe it yourself then you can forget about seeing it manifest in your life. It’s not just about saying the words, it’s about taking the actions making what you see start to take a form. You must know that feeling when you begin taking action of any task, you start to see it take shape and before you know it you’re half way to completion. That feeling is inspiration, followed by momentum to see it through and what follows are the rewards of success for your accomplishment. This is the format that exists in everything, it is purely passion, passion to move in desired direction, passion to power through the rough patches, passion to pursue that which you know you can attain and passion to succeed. You must know you that you can do anything you put your heart and mind into.

Sometimes getting to the other side of success can feel overwhelming, sometimes enough to make you question your abilities and/or goals:

  • What do I do now?
  • How do I maintain?
  • Have I reached my potential?

Here’s what you do:

  • Enjoy it
  • Relax a little
  • Marinate the next ideas of change you desire

There’s always another mountain to climb, there’s always another challenge ahead and there is never a dull moment because inspiration is always available. Don’t paint yourself into a corner and say there’s no way out, there is always a way out, you will find your best answers within your imagination.

Imagination is not just for kids, the only reason kids access is more is because they aren’t jaded, they are uninhibited and unwilling to accept that there is something they can’t do or try.

I think a lot of us limit our vision because life itself seen through the eyes of negativity is clouded but when you change that view and realize that there are no limits I think you would be amazed at what you can accomplish!

When You Know Better, You Do Better

Strengthening the Ground You Stand On!

This eye-opening phrase comes from Maya Angelou and I first heard it when watching an Oprah Winfrey show a few years ago and even though at the time I thought I understood the meaning it turns out it didn’t fully sink in until recently when watching one of Oprah’s Lifeclass segments where she really dug into it.

Even though all of her shows, master classes and now lifeclasses focus on life enrichment and enlightenment for the betterment of our inner spirits I have always found it amazing that she could interview anyone and I mean anyone, including those that have been negatively labelled by society. How does she do it without reservation or judgement with regard to the actions that have brought the negative labels attached to them? A lot of times we can end up judging another person based on what we’ve heard or seen of their actions but who are we to judge? I’m quite sure that no one is perfect, everyone has made a mistake at one time or another.

I have chastised myself for the times I’ve allowed others to take advantage of an aspect of my personality and what I finally got from this phrase was while it was not nice for someone to take advantage they were able to do so because I let them, now I know better. I can’t continually punish myself for the actions of someone else because I was hurt by it, all I can do is learn from it and strengthen my boundaries so it doesn’t happen again “When you know better, you do better”.

awakening

What an “aha” moment it was when I finally got this in its full context and along with it came the enlightenment that if someone hurt me in my past I can’t continue to judge them for it now or carry it into my future because I allowed it, I let it happen. I didn’t knowingly consent to it but I also didn’t object, I didn’t communicate my discontent and that’s on me. Just maybe, they didn’t know better or maybe they did but that doesn’t matter because all actions have karmic consequences doled out only by the Universe and if someone knowingly and/or willingly takes advantage of another it is not my karma, it is theirs.

Negative experiences usually cause internal emotional hurt and/or pain and we all deal with these kinds of experiences differently. Some act out aggressively to release it, some internalize and act out passive aggressively and some bottle it up. The best way to heal is to acknowledge the hurt, allow yourself to feel it so you can make peace with it, learn from it and only then can you truly move forward and release it.

Negative experiences can sometimes stall you in life and paralyze you from moving forward, keeping you in that time to remember it over and over again. Knowing and doing better because of it frees you.

I’ve made my own mistakes, I learned from most of them, sometimes I had to make them twice to learn but “when you know better, you do better”. I certainly don’t make the same mistakes anymore because now I know better and what I’ve now learned to consider is that maybe those who have caused me hurt in the past were acting out of their own pain. Embracing this philosophy has given me a heightened sense of awareness into myself and others and has shown me another level of the “judgement” lesson, I don’t think any of us ever have it all figured out. This “aha” realization has taught me the deeper meaning of empathy and its connection to all of our emotional challenges but in this case specifically judgement, which has allowed me to further my trust that the Universe takes care of us all in relation to the life we live and the seeds we sow.

Finding Yourself First!

May Help You Find Your Direction in Life

It’s hard to know what you want out of life or what you’re looking for when you haven’t fully figured out who YOU are.  It’s taken me a long time to really realize my direction in life and to become aware of some of the reasons behind some of my choices.  I’ve made wrong turns because I wasn’t fully aware of my real motivations and underlying needs and even though I had thought I’d gone in a specific direction for a specific reason, I had discovered later that I was compromising one need to meet or maintain another.  The biggest “aha” was that I wasn’t even aware that I was doing this or what my real needs and/or desires were because I was too distracted in every area of my life to realize that I didn’t know who I really was.  I had normalized in my mind that having every moment of my day spoken for meant that I was getting things done and fulfilling the normal life plan, at least that was my misguided understanding.  We’re not all built the same so why would there be a “one size fits all” life plan that everyone conforms to, the life plan itself should conform to each individual and I don’t believe that everyone gains happiness, peace and balance from travelling the same path.

finding your way

I have come to these realizations at various times over the last five years because I’ve been interested In the bigger picture and wanted to find the root of why I kept ending up in similar life scenarios whether that was within family, friend or intimate relationships.  You know, if I keep doing things the same way I shouldn’t be expecting different results just because my intentions or awareness has changed or grown.  No doubt there will be many more of these realizations to come as I have more chapters of my life to fill and from what I’ve learned so far this leads me to believe that this enlightenment has only just begun.

I think that when you get “stuck” in certain areas of your life it’s because there is something bigger that is holding you back and when you start to rewind and replay those that didn’t go as you’d hoped, you will likely find the pattern that is keeping you “stuck”.  Recognizing and becoming aware of the patterns that you’ve repeated can be the first step in turning your entire life around because once you’ve brought yourself awareness it will help you to create a new pattern.  When you change things up this way you will find yourself in very new and very unfamiliar territory.  When I started to recognize and slowly change those areas of my conditioning I found at first, that it felt a little weird, but in a good way.  The main thing I noticed is that I’d eliminated the self-doubt and replaced it with a stronger sense of self-guidance.

Of course all changes we make to improve our lives will have a transition period and uncertainty can usually be expected but as long as you listen to your heart and follow your gut instinct I don’t believe you will end up on the wrong path.  Acknowledging how things make you feel along the way and allowing yourself the freedom to step outside of your comfort zone to explore areas of life that you had never thought to try will help to ease the transitions and reduce the fears.

No matter what path you take or process you use to learn more about who YOU are, it’s that awareness that will help you to gain a greater understanding and contentment overall.

Purpose & Passion

Every Obstacle or Setback Creates an Opportunity

It’s hard to believe that this would be true but it is and believe me I’ve done my fair questioning of “Are you kidding me?”  It is usually through difficulty that we find out what we are really made of and what we really can accomplish.  The question to ask when you are in the midst of difficulty is do I want to find a positive outcome and do better or do I want to look for an excuse not to try and do the same or worse.  It’s the balance of positive versus negative and that can be a battle all on its own.  Some have to work harder than others to find the positive side but I can assure you it’s totally worth it.

Of course it is easiest not to try, there is no effort required for that route at all and unfortunately that makes it the most travelled road but definitely not the most pleasant, positive or purposeful.

I know everyone out there has the desire to have a better life and anything worth having is definitely worth working for.  If things were too easy they would be so attainable that they likely wouldn’t be desired.  This is true in taking the path of “not to try”, there is absolutely no effort required in this route and I’m quite sure that there isn’t one person out there that wants to have nothing, no one says when they are a child that my life goal is “not to try”.  Every child has a dream and just because we are now adults doesn’t mean that you’ve passed the point of attaining a goal you made as a child, teen or young adult.  The only difference is that you just alter the timeline, instead of achieving something by the time you were 25 you now achieve it by the time you’re 35 , 45, 55, etc.  The only reason you can’t achieve something should be because you are no longer on the earthly plane, other than that being an obstacle, there are none.  We only create obstacles to make ourselves feel better for not doing something we really wanted to do and at the end of the day you still don’t feel better.

Some of my biggest setbacks have created the enlightenment that I needed to guide me to my greater passion and purpose.

I can honestly say without a doubt that I wouldn’t change any of the events that led me to where I am today.  Of course some of them were so far from ideal that I was questioning the greater reasoning  behind them at the time, but all of them I can now honor and appreciate because they led me to my passion which then led me to my purpose.  The way I was able to find my purpose was  within, I started listening to my inner spirit.  It had always been whispering to me and I found that it was only when I started to listen and pay attention that it became louder and stronger.

My purpose has led me to a greater form of contentment, peace and balance which has motivated my desire to stay on this path.

If you are looking for a sign that you deserve to honor your and achieve your innermost desires then this is it.

You ARE worthy!

You CAN achieve whatever you desire!

You CAN live a life with purpose and passion!

DON’T let anyone ever tell you any different!
