Follow Your Instincts!

Let Your Inner Wisdom have a Voice

There is so much going on in our lives and around us that we don’t have the time or the opportunity to hear what our internal voice or instinct has to say, believe me I know this one! My life for the past year has been drama after drama after drama and I’ve not given my own spirit as many moments as it deserves to recharge, rebuild or revive my inspiration. As much as I want to encourage others to give themselves that time I have to also push myself to embrace it more because it is what makes our souls flourish. Every moment you can give yourself counts!

Everyone has an opinion and most are willing to share it whether you want it or not. Everyone has a direction they feel you should be going in and are most convincing in telling you how you should be living your life but the real question is, what do your instincts have to say? Why are you paying so much attention to what others think you should be doing, why are you not consulting your own inner voice and conscience?

I think we all spend too much time in consideration of what others will think about what we are doing rather than giving consideration to the voice that matters the most, the one inside you that instinctively knows what the best direction for you actually is. The only time I have not allowed my inner voice to have the floor is when I know that a direction or action I’ve taken is or feels wrong. I think we tend to avoid even our own conscience when we know we’ve blurred our line of integrity.I choose

That action itself can have a spiral effect that you may not realize because when you take an action that isn’t even approved by your own conscience a shift in your mind of what you deserve as a result occurs and actions that follow may be against you by you because you are going to deal yourself the punishment. How long will that last though and how do you know when you’ve suffered enough to lighten up on yourself? All of this second guessing and punishment seems almost crazy, if you just consult your conscience from the beginning and listen to your instincts chances are you won’t have to end up in this crazy spiral.

We are here in human bodies and that humanity at times is flawed, sometimes we make mistakes but sometimes those mistakes lead us to a better place in our life by bringing inner wisdom, personal growth and awareness to our soul. Self-punishing is pointless, taking ownership and making amends rejuvenates and revives the soul in ways that self-punishing never will.

With so much going on outside of us it’s easy to get caught up in the daily buzz, next thing you know a week has gone by, and then a month, and so forth and you still haven’t given yourself that time-out to listen to what’s inside your spirit. Taking that time out to stop and smell the roses has so much more meaning than you realize and honestly at certain times in our lives it doesn’t feel possible but somewhere within the 24 hours of a day you need to honor your spirit enough to give it even just a moment to speak to you.

I don’t think many of us realize how much easier life could be if we allowed our spirit to have a voice for even just a moment, it knows your best direction better than you think you do and sometimes when you go against it you are creating more difficulty in your life than if you just went with your natural flow.

There is a mountain of distractions that can easily keep us from hearing the wisdom our inner voice has to offer but those distractions also keep us in a daily routine and life that isn’t productive or pleasurable. It’s easy to put your time and interest into someone else’s life because you either feel that’s your purpose or because it feels fulfilling but I believe that will only last for a while because your instincts know you are supposed to be somewhere else in your life and will keep trying to guide you there, why are you resisting? By this I don’t mean abandon those you feel are connected to your purpose, more like find the balance so everyone’s spirit is equally nurtured.

We are hard-wired to survive but instinctually we are driven to find the greater meaning and connection to our path and each other, intellectually we know that connection cannot occur alone so we need each other. It is what goes on externally that can either impede or inspire your progression on your path, navigating it by utilizing your instincts is not only the key but your saving grace.

Have you ever had the notion that there is something that you should be doing, somewhere else you should be, some destiny or prophecy that you should be fulfilling, something bigger than you that is significant in a way you aren’t yet aware of?

I think that is your instinct trying to put the yearning into your soul so you strive to seek the greater purpose that each of us have and are meant for. Our purposes are different from one another, some are interconnected, some are not but all are a part of the Universal Grand Design that is part of this journey.intuition, albert einstein

I believe we have all embarked on these seemingly separate journeys to develop a deeper connection to our souls, then each other and the Universe, when you come across that “aha” moment of making that connection it’s an amazing epiphany that you will finally realize could not have been stumbled upon any other way than spiritually.

Don’t forget your Gift!

Every Journey Has a Purpose

Are You on the Right Path?

We have all been given what we need to help us get through the challenges we are meant to face.  That help is available to you all the time because it is within you but sometimes it’s difficult to tap into it, especially when negativity has you in its grip.  If you are feeling low, unworthy or disappointed within any area of your life, you have the power to change it.  The big question is “are you going to” or is it easier to place blame and say that’s why it’s not going to change.  Regardless of whether or not you have found your purpose or feel that there is a purpose for you in this life, Pastor Joel Osteen has the real deal on this, his quote below:

If you are breathing, God has a purpose for you.  As long as you have breath, somebody needs what you have, somebody needs your gifts, somebody needs your time, somebody needs your love.

His words are very true, we are all here to learn, teach and grow from every experience and obviously if we grow positively, that is ideal.  It’s not about that fact that you stumbled or fell, it’s how you got up and what you did to move forward while maintaining a little grace and dignity along the way.

If you haven’t found your purpose or passion yet it’s doesn’t mean you don’t have one, it just means you haven’t come to the place in your life yet where all that needs to be aligned for it to occur is fully aligned yet.  With every challenge or lesson I experience I always know that there is a greater purpose for it and even though I don’t know what the greater purpose is yet I know that I have enough faith to believe that it will work out as it is meant to and in the right time.  I know it can be really difficult to wait it out but I am not on my own clock for my intended lessons, it is the universe that will decide when the time is right so there is no point in my stressing about it or resisting.  One of your biggest assets in times like these is having faith and trusting in that faith.

Changing the conversations and internal dialogue that you have with yourself is another one of your assets.  It’s amazing how different your life can be if you start to believe in yourself, others will follow and believe in you too.  Instead of feeding the voice of negativity, the one that tells you that you aren’t worthy, intelligent, beautiful, abundant and so on, feed the voice of the positive.  The Universe responds to whatever you are telling yourself whether that is negative or positive.  Start telling yourself how lucky and blessed you are, live, breathe and feel the emotions attached to those statements and you will find that you will start to see great things develop in your life.

The biggest hurdle you will have is at the beginning because it starts with acknowledgement and awareness and changing and expanding those two require a lot of discipline.  If you’ve had significant difficulties in your life so far, the first thing you can acknowledge is that regardless of how challenging or disheartening they may have been, you made it through it.  That’s a huge accomplishment and not one that should be ignored or pushed aside.  Don’t put the emphasis on how awful it was, put the emphasis on how impressive it is that you came out with more wisdom then you went in with.  My other favorite quote is from Wayne Dyer:

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

This is a great example of how changing your focus can put the right emphasis on the challenges you’ve had so far and when you do that it will also de-emphasize the severity of the negative thoughts that you may be replaying in your mind.  It will also reinforce your feelings of empowerment, pride and self-respect and that is the beginning of the new and improved path.

Your internal dialogue is the most prominent voice in your life, whether it is subconsciously or consciously fueling your thoughts of self-worth.  The best change you can make in your life is to use this internal dialogue in a positive and productive way for yourself so that you can live your best life.

One of the biggest changes I’ve made that always turns out to be the best decision is stepping out of my comfort zone and choosing the road I am scared to travel.  I think sometimes we need to take risks and scare ourselves, it is within those risks that we experience the most personal growth and achievement, at least it has been for me.

Lessons, Lessons, Lessons!

Embracing Them All

I really believe that everything happens for a reason and as it should in the right time, although I’ve had my faith significantly challenged in these beliefs at times which has led me to question certain occurrences in my life.  I’ve come to the conclusion in the last little while that regardless of how difficult it may be, embracing the lesson may be the answer.  Even the lessons that don’t seem like there is a conclusion to, I think sometimes, embracing the lesson is the conclusion.

I have both resisted and accepted different lessons I’ve experienced, and so far resistance has been the most harmful to me and has caused the negativity attached to the lesson to drag on for much longer than it needed to.  As well, I noticed when resisting that the lesson has continued to appear in my life, whether I liked it or not, through different scenarios and/or people, until I was finally able to acknowledge, understand and progress from it.

On almost every lesson I’ve had so far I’ve discovered that there was a need that I wasn’t aware of and wasn’t allowing to be fulfilled because my ego was quite sure it knew what the need was and was searching in the wrong place.  With my ego venturing off believing it knew best, I’ve wondered if it is possible for those in our circle to get caught in the middle of a lesson that is not part of their path simply because of their placement and vice versa.  When you are emotionally attached to someone it can be hard to sit back and let them lead, especially if you feel you can help, but ultimately it is their lesson and not our place to invade.

What does one do when they find themselves in this situation?  I believe that our awareness and inner voice (gut instinct) will let us know when that is the case and guide us to step back, the challenge is whether or not we listen to it.  The best I’ve found is to offer but not insist, you can’t steer someone else’s ship but you can help guide them through the rocks.

My thoughts have started to sway towards an understanding in the divinity of it all, are these really mistakes?  Or are they guided interventions that the universe is arranging to help us move in the direction of the path we are meant to be on?  I’ve realized that without some of the more challenging lessons I’ve had there may have been so many areas of thought, intention, passion and purpose I may not have discovered.

My curiosity is these different areas of thought are strong and I like investigating all the options, if I don’t I leave myself without possibilities.  It’s the possibilities that create the energy I need to sustain myself through the difficult times and it helps me to find a way to dance when it rains.

I’ve found that embracing all the lessons is providing me with a calmer sense of being, energized intention and a stronger insight into enjoying the journey.

Envisioning Your Future

Seeing is Believing, Believing is Seeing

For myself, the beginning of this process was to first determine what it was that I really wanted out of my life.  This wasn’t something I was able to do instantaneously, it definitely took some serious reflection on where I’ve been, where I wanted to go, how I wanted to get there and who I wanted there with me.  In making that determination I had to remain true to my inner desires without compromising my inner self.  The course that I wanted to chart felt like a very natural progression and I knew I could easily fit into it without having to alter myself in any way.

When trying to figure out your ultimate calling these factors are very important, it should be a natural fit with who you already are.

Once I had it all figured out, it then transitioned so easily and so naturally that I wondered why I hadn’t discovered this path before.  I knew that I wasn’t living up to my true potential, I knew that I didn’t feel fulfilled.  There was always something that I felt I was supposed to be doing but couldn’t quite put my finger on it.

What I had been doing that prevented this natural transition, was resisting, although I didn’t know it until I had stopped.  The foundation of the resistance that I was creating was due to my indecision about what I wanted to envision for my future.  I couldn’t begin to believe if I didn’t know what it was that I wanted to see.

Once you allow yourself to imagine the life you want, it becomes that much easier to create it.  I wrote out my own little “To Do” list with the steps in an order that would best help me to reach my ultimate goal.  Making this list was the easiest part of preparing for my future all I had to do was follow the steps I had planned out, if one didn’t work out as expected, I would re-organize my steps.

Visualization isn’t easy for everyone if you are having a tough time with it, then create a vision board and make sure you have it in a place where you will see it every day.  After a while you will be able to see your vision board in your mind without being in front of it, you can make mental alterations if you want to.  At that point you are now Visualizing, and doing it on your own.

There’s a reason why we go through the events we do and it is because they are the necessary steps that shape us into the people we need to be so we have all the tools we need for the future we are destined for.  Each event is designed to teach us something and the victory is when you’ve identified the lesson and used it to enhance your own personal growth.

I have used the Law of Attraction for many years and I can honestly say that everything I’ve ever really wanted and put my conscious and subconscious mind into I’ve achieved.  Anytime that something hasn’t worked for me wasn’t because the Law of Attraction wasn’t working it’s because I was blocking it in some way.

Keep your mind and heart open, see what you want and believe in it.  The more you believe in it, the more you will see it.
