The Mastery of Will

You Attract What You Believe

It’s extremely important to really understand the depth and power your own thoughts command.  If someone told you that you created your reality with your thoughts, even the bad experiences that made their way into your life, would you believe it?

I have always embraced good thoughts and subsequent good experiences and even though I’ve always been aware of how impactful my thoughts are on my life I didn’t always connect them on the occasional time they would dip.  It is all energy and alignment, what you are emitting is what you will attract, keeping that in mind when something disappoints, saddens or hurts you will be your most important time of vigilance.

This isn’t to say that every bad experience you’ve had is your fault, you do not intentionally invite bad experiences but the energy swirling around you can.  Your energy has a magnetic field that attracts and pulls in like energy which is why it is so imperative to check in with yourself often, monitor and change your thoughts when necessary.

I do believe destiny plays a powerful role and that my experiences (good and bad) have always had something to teach me.  In the positive light after a negative experience I always look for the lesson, what can I take away from it?  Even an elevation in awareness from a negative experience becomes the positive light at the end of a dark tunnel.

The Human Factor:  When venturing down a negative road within your thoughts you are unconsciously constructing the prison your mind will be sentenced to live in, one that impacts your actions, your outlook and ultimately your quality of life.  Which side of that spectrum you lean toward (positive or negative) is the direction you alone get to choose.  Living in the positive significantly expands and cultivates positive thoughts, actions and outlook on life in growth and for me is the only way.

Every thing began with a thought.  Every achievement began with an action.  Everything you want in life is on the other side of those thoughts and actions.  Fear is the only thing that can stop you from chasing what you desire.  There are a few acronyms to define fear but I heard one the other day that is my new favourite and best describes my relationship with it when I let it in.

  • False
  • Expectations
  • Appearing
  • Real

That is exactly how it has felt when I’ve allowed myself to be infected by fear.  I would magnify those thoughts in my mind giving fear more life and power than it deserved.  Thankfully my determination to overcome that adversity is a much stronger will of mine than fear.  I absolutely refuse to let fear define me in any way.

You have to believe so strongly in yourself and the direction you are going toward that you are able to accomplish whatever it is you set your mind to.  It is within that belief (mastery of will) that you can achieve anything.

The Soul Within:  Hearing and heeding your inner voice is the most effective way to nurture the soul within, to help it flourish and to discover your destined path, divinely guided that is.

Let go of control and allow the Universe to bring toward you what is divinely guided and let your mind be.  There is no need to worry or stress about it, what is meant for you will never miss you.  You have to trust in that and go about your life.  Build what you need to in the meantime knowing all things are going to fall into place when they are meant to without you trying to force things along or in the timeframe you believe it should be.

When you try to force or guide things you end up creating a resistance in the Universe because you are going against its natural flow and divine timing.  I know it is difficult sometimes to allow things to unfold especially if you are feeling inspired or motivated to forge ahead but it is called divine timing for a reason.  We don’t always know the reasons why things occur when they do or when they don’t and it is

Another phrase I heard somewhere in the last month that also resonated with me was “life is not a dress rehearsal and time is not a renewable resource”.  My appreciation with this phrase is a resounding reminder about the importance of a moment, the value of a connection, how rare they are and not to take them for granted.

Life can change in a moment, regret can last a lifetime, say yes to as many life changing positive opportunities as you can!

Lighten Up!

And Let the Love Flow

Are you struggling in any or all areas of your life?  Does it feel like something is holding you back from the changes you want to see occur?  It all starts with your thoughts, specifically your dominant ones, which thoughts are you encouraging, embellishing and embracing?  Are you letting the experiences in your life that have hurt you define and shape the story and direction of your life?  The time to change is now and it begins with letting go of that which no longer serves you.

Ease up, relax and settle back into your authentic self, dig deep down if you have to but get in touch with who you are at your soul level.  If you are feeling the grips of struggle it is likely that part of you hasn’t had a voice for a while and you would be doing yourself a great kindness by re-connecting.

Your answers, where you want to go and what you want to see change are found within the silence.  If you have long forgotten what you wanted in life or aren’t sure anymore then you really need to pay attention to those whisperings, they come from your heart and your soul and they won’t lead you in the wrong direction.

To see the manifestation of your dreams and all you desire you must set your intention and then blend with the energetic flow of least resistance.  It is actually easier to do than you may think, it’s as easy as breathing.  The only reason letting go seems to be so difficult is because you have become too accustomed to going against the stream instead of allowing it to carry you.

Have you ever noticed how relaxed, happy and zen anyone who has seen their dreams and desires manifest are?  Of course they would be happy because they are finally “living their dream” but it’s also because stepping into that state began with letting go, having faith and trusting in the divine to lead you to your true destiny, whatever that may be.  There is much comfort and ease in that state of being, more than you may realize and definitely more than anyone trying to discourage you will acknowledge.

When you feel like you are constantly in the challenges of life you are not relaxed, happy or zen, you are stressed.  Has the amount of stress you put on yourself in any given situation every positively changed the outcome?  I would bet no, simply because I have done this to myself, more than once actually, and every time it’s been a total waste of energy that I could have put to better positive use.

I’ve noticed that the times when I’ve felt relaxed, happy and zen that my life flows with much more ease and in hindsight I find myself recognizing the patterned dysfunction of it all and wondering why when I know I am doing this to myself do I continue to embrace it?  Simple, it’s a conditioning that needs to be broken, changed, re-aligned and re-formatted into a positively charged pattern, this takes discipline and time so don’t get discouraged.

From the time we are young we are conditioned to be fearful, something for sure is going to catch up with you and ruin your “not likely to achieve” dreams.  We are told to be realistic and not to expect too much, the world doesn’t just give you all the breaks.  Ok, for a small part of that I will agree and I will tell you why.  It is true you aren’t going to get all the breaks at least not for free, you are actually going to have to do the work.  Anything worth having is worth working for, you can’t just ask for abundance and then do nothing to work toward it but as long as you put your intention out there, believe in it, feel it, blend it with that energy and then do your work the opportunity for those breaks begin to open up.

When you do the work you will find your confidence, self-worth and personal empowerment begin to grow and after a while the work doesn’t seem as hard now as it was at the beginning and that is because the first step of this journey is letting go.

Changing that thought so that you are no longer holding onto the fear is the most difficult and monumental part of positive change but it can be done!

  • What do you want to see manifest in your life?
  • What are you willing to do to make it happen?

Get out there now, the sky is your limit!

Rise or Fall

What Is Your Objective?

Are you going to let the difficult times determine your value and quality of life?

Are you going to build your future on a foundation of pains from the past?

Or you going to let it inspire you to change the direction to a more positive outcome?

When you are feeling stuck which I think everyone has at one time or another (hopefully not too often) you are presented with an opportunity.  The only problem is most of the time you don’t see it as opportunity because when you’re in that place of feeling stuck there are other emotions going on that cloud your view.

The opportunity is change!  Changing your thoughts, changing your attitude, changing your outlook and ultimately changing your life direction.

When you move in the direction of positive change it alters everything in your life:

  • It starts with you and your thoughts, do they sway a little stronger one way or the other (positive or negative side)? What you tell yourself, especially from your subconscious impacts how you feel and how you feel impacts how you interact with others.
  • When your thoughts change so do your interactions with others and how you view and perceive them. Things that possibly annoyed you before begin to become not so important, not because someone else has changed but because you have.
  • When your attitude changes that changes your outlook and your world around you becomes less offensive, not because others have changed but because you have. It’s not “what you get is what you see”, it’s actually “what you see is what you get”.

I’m not going to lie, it’s hard to change your thinking around when you are coming from the place of feeling stuck.  It’s hard to find something solid to stand on so you can rise up from whatever has put you in this place but it is possible.

It takes only a quick shift of thought, that lightning moment to change the direction.  I know that when I get an idea in my head I don’t let it go until I’ve exhausted everything trying.

No one is a failure for trying something that didn’t work, not trying will do more damage to you emotionally through regret than any effort ever made that didn’t work.

Vulnerability is the only way and it’s scary to put yourself out there especially when you don’t know the answers or feel you aren’t ready or strong enough to have them heard but it is such a freeing place to be.  When you allow yourself to be vulnerable there’s nothing left to hide, nothing left to expose or exploit, that changes it into power, personal power!

Whatever caused you to feel stuck is usually not something external but something you find the answers for internally.  Circumstance is just that and circumstance cannot hinder your personal power only you can do that by thinking you are powerless to change a situation.

All situations can be challenged and possibly changed and feeling stuck is only a state of mind, one caused by your own resistance of thinking you are powerless.

Bottom line is you need to be the change you wish to see!

The Strength of Energy

There are No Limits!

Everyone carries their own energy and that energy feeds whatever thoughts you embrace the most. If you are embracing the negative than the Universe will respond by bringing to you more negativity. If you embrace the positive than the Universe will respond by bringing to you all things positive.

It seems like a no brainer to me, why would anyone choose to let negativity run their life, it doesn’t make you happy that’s for sure. In fact anyone negative that I’ve ever encountered I can’t get away from them fast enough because the energy feels heavy, sickening, dirty and dark. We all have good energy but when you let negative experiences define and cripple you the cloud of negativity cloaks it until you throw it off.

Negativity grows in the environment that feeds it best and that environment is bad thoughts, attitude or outlook on life. These areas feed how your future is going to play out so if you feel stuck in any way in any area of your life just know that that is negativity’s way in. As far as I’m concerned there are no limits to what you can achieve, only options. When you don’t see those options it’s because they are clouded by your ego, the ego that tells you “you can’t do it”. Your ego works in conjunction with negativity and with those two running the show you will never be in control of your life or steering it in the direction you hope and want it to go.

The overall tone of each day is a conscious choice to either allow the little things to get to you or not, that is really how it all begins.

Like when you wake up late and you’re in a panic to get moving as quickly as possible and everything you do keeps interrupting your flow and setting you further back on the clock. I’ve had this occur and in retrospect I’ve realized that it’s not necessarily that my movements are set back any further than any other day but rather that I’m racing against a time that isn’t going to stop moving and there’s no way I’m going to make the deadline I had planned. My best option for the day is to embrace that I’m late, pick a new time frame a little farther ahead for my goal of getting myself together and on with my day. Think about it you’re already late, you’re not going to get that time back no matter how much you race around. So how the day goes (good or bad) depends on your choice to embrace the lateness or to let it define the rest of your day.

Negative or Positive is a choice, one that is probably the single most important decision determining the outcome of your well-being on a daily basis.

If you are feeling like you have no options take a few moments to recognize that these are not the thoughts of truth from your inner spirit, they are the negative cell(s) in your body that are fighting with your gut instincts to be in control. Your gut instincts knows your truth and that is why you always need to listen to them, it’s not just for direction but for your emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.

Have you ever felt like you belong in an area of life different from where you currently are but can’t get there because you feel stuck or trapped? That is the cloud of negativity doing its thing, working your thoughts to make you believe you have no options and your instincts (that you’ve quieted to a dull whisper) know the truth but you won’t allow them to have their say.

The cloud of negativity absolutely loves to be in control and if you are feeling bad about yourself in any way then negativity is in the lead. The first step to changing that around is making the decision to do so, step by step to get to where you want to go, like checking off the “to do list” and fitting the pieces of a puzzle together. Everything in life worth having is worth building and everything that has been built has steps to get to the end result. Write it out in 5 or 10 steps to start, if you can do the small steps, next thing you know you may be halfway through to your goal.

Your inner spirit and personal truth is the untainted, unbiased area of that which is you, your subconscious is the default zone of your conscious thinking. Altering just your conscious thoughts are not enough, the area of your true beliefs lie within your subconscious. So basically, you can tell yourself something and plan that is going to change an area of your life but if in your sub-conscious (in the back of your mind), you are telling yourself something else, it will never work. The thoughts you say to yourself on a daily basis are the ones that determine your emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.

There are certain things I read that just don’t make sense in my mind and I like the use of analogies to further explain so here’s mine for this thought. I’ve had this conversational debate with a few people, it’s to do with food and weight because of course everyone wants to find a better way to boost their physical health and of course why not? I’ve had many people comment on my appetite with food and honestly I do eat a lot but their comments are to do with the lack of excessive weight that they feel I should gain based on my intake. Every single time I say “I’m not worried, nothing sticks to me”, now I do take into consideration that genetically my family has always been big eaters without issue but I do not believe that this is the sole reason. I can tell you I honestly, honestly believe that statement “I’m not worried, nothing sticks to me” with every fibre of my being, consciously, subconsciously, everywhere!

I’ve talked with friends who say “ok, yes I’m going to try that” and then they say “but I know it’s not going to work”. Right there!   That’s the statement they are firmly planting in their subconscious and the universe responds “as you wish”.

This is where it all starts, this is the key to all things you want to change for the better, it starts in your subconscious. Pay very close attention to what you tell yourself, you may think it’s insignificant but when you put it into this context it becomes very significant and very important!

Surrounding yourself with like-minded souls will elevate your own in ways that motivate you to break down the barriers that are placed on your path by both yourself and those that want to hold you back.

The best choice you can make for yourself is to seek out those that nurture and inspire your spirit positively and unconditionally. When you find this place in your life you will realize that there are no limits to what you can do!

All Good Things in the Right Time!

Allowing the Universe to Set the Pace

I have my beliefs that I follow, one of them is having faith that things work out as they should and when they should, fighting or resisting the natural flow is pointless and usually very frustrating so it’s better for me to do what I need to do and allow the Universe to respond and set the pace.

I have many life goals that I want to achieve, all of which I have initiated and the most important aspect that I have to remain true to, is faith that the Universe will present the right opportunities when the time is perfectly right and not to try to force anything ahead of what is already divinely arranged.

The Universe provides us all with what we need but knows when the time is right and when we are most open to receive, accept and embrace.  I think there are definitely times when we don’t realize that we aren’t fully open and could be blocking ourselves in some way that isn’t easily recognizable for us so that we could change it.  I know that there have been a few times where I’ve thought “I’m ready” but things aren’t happening the way I’d hoped or when I’d hoped.  What I’ve realized much later is even though I thought was ready, it turns out I wasn’t, I just thought I was and thought I knew better but that was the ego thinking  (EGO:  Edging God Out – as in removing faith in what you cannot see)

I’m not over the top in my beliefs and everyone has their own right to choose, I’ve learned what works for me and what doesn’t and I have adjusted and lived my life accordingly.  Everyone should have the right to choose their own path and not be forced or coerced down one that doesn’t fully feel right or aligned with their inner core.  As much as I’d like to at times help or direct someone I care about down a path that I feel is best for them it is not my place to do so and I don’t walk in their shoes every day so I am not aware of all that occurs within, nor do I have the right to judge which path they choose, that is the beauty of “free will”.  Live and let live, I know I don’t like being told how I should be doing things so why should I expect that anyone else would.  I am always open and appreciative to hear the opinion and/or advice of others I respect and admire but the final decisions are ultimately mine to make.

Our ego can get the better of us at times because it inflates and infuses our thoughts into an over-exaggerated belief of self-prominence and knowledge.  What I’ve usually discovered later down the road in hindsight is usually very humbling and expands my awareness to a greater degree.

I believe the best course of action is to lay the groundwork, let the Universe respond when the time is right and be open to waiting for it and taking advantage of the opportunity when it presents itself, you will “feel it” when the opportunity is right, do not hesitate, seize the moment.  Trusting and believing that things will happen as they should and when they should is the key to enhancing your patience.  If something doesn’t go the way you’d hoped it usually takes you into a newer and better direction, one that turns out to be a better plan that maybe you never had thought of or considered.  Every single time I have maintained my belief and faith I have been rewarded with more opportunities than I could have imagined and that is enough of an indication for me to stay on the same track because it works great!  I don’t need to push the boundaries because things always tend to even out in the end so putting myself through additional stress trying to push or force something to happen is pointless.

Like I said earlier I have many life goals that I’ve initiated, I have many hopeful desires for life direction that I will continue to focus my strongest thoughts on and I will do all that I need to achieve them but without force because the Universe will present the opportunities and if it isn’t what I’d hoped for, I know it will be something better, experience has taught me that lesson.

Remember your thoughts (positive or negative) are just as strong an influence on the direction your life goes as anything in your life and what you most think about will show up in your life so be very aware of what thoughts you have in both your conscious and sub-conscious mind.  In my opinion it is the sub-conscious mind that has the most power (the sub-conscious runs continually), you can say to yourself consciously that you wish and desire things one way but if you feel deep down (sub-consciously) that your thoughts really don’t fully believe than you could be your own downfall.

As an example to illustrate this theory, I myself utilize this same thought process but I also read it as an excerpt from one of the contributing writers in the book “The Secret”.  A woman spoke of having issues with her weight her whole life and when she started to utilize the theories in the “The Secret” that changed.  Her sub-conscious thoughts used to fully support her reasoning for having difficulty with controlling her weight, how she couldn’t lose it no matter how many different diets she tried or how much exercise she did.

In case you aren’t seeing what the common denominator is here she kept reinforcing negative thoughts that backed up why she couldn’t shed the unwanted pounds:

–         I tried exercise but can’t lose any weight

–         Everything I eat goes to my waist

–         I’ve tried all diets and nothing keeps it off

All of her inner responses and sub-conscious thoughts were reinforcing and allowing the negative to keep operating against her with excuses as to why it wasn’t working, making it ok to fail and justifying it.

It really does all begin with changing your thoughts as to where you can progress to and having faith that things will go in the direction you want.  So she changed her thoughts and reinforced them with positive ones

–         Exercise is taking off the excess I want to discard

–         Nothing is going to stick to me

–         This new diet of moderation with occasional reward is working

By the end of the story the woman had said she was down to her goal weight and maintaining it because of this change of thought process and that was within not only the conscious but sub-conscious mind.  You need to have both on board to be able to effect the change you want to see.

The same enhancement of thought goes for everything in your life including your faith and state of being and even though I’ve had my moments of doubt (which I believe everyone has at one time or another, it’s only natural and human), but bringing myself back to center and positive thinking will bring a much more relaxed state of happiness and healthy living.

–         Be Aware

–         Be Open

–         Be Gracious

–         Be Humble

The Universe will give you what you need when you live in these states of being.  Always remember that things could be so much worse and that breath of life is a gift that shouldn’t go unappreciated.

Enhancing Your Thoughts

By Building a Positive Outlook

I don’t know if what I’m feeling is associated with astrology, as in planetary alignment, or if it is just me but I feel like I have been recharged.  I think the ability to enhance ourselves even more positively than we may currently be feeling is something that ultimately comes from within but can be enhanced externally as well.  It’s the equivalent of starting off your day feeling great and having external occurrences, like green lights all the way to work, support and/or enhance it.  I do find that when I’ve felt the uprise of positivity there is no downslide it just keeps building and building and I think that has a lot to do with my thoughts and how strongly I embrace them.

I know that not every day of our lives is totally fabulous or flawless, of course that would be great wouldn’t it?  I do aspire to make every day a good one and my positive mindset is one of my most helpful assets but I do have my off days and thankfully they are few.  There are times when things aren’t necessarily off but maybe more stagnant and those days can be as frustrating as the off days especially if you have a lot of ambition and hope for where you want to see your life go.

I think it’s in those times where we aren’t really experiencing a storm but rather frustration that I believe are the indications that you are in need of some rest, relaxation and recharge.  Sometimes the ambition can deplete you, especially if your expectations for the speed of your own personal progress isn’t moving ahead in the timeframe you had hoped for.  An important thing to remember is that your faith is being challenged, another one of life’s lessons that has presented itself to me many times and when I realize I need to let go and trust that the universe knows much more than I do things start to even out because I know that everything will happen when the time is perfectly right.

What we create in our lives is solely influenced by our thoughts, state of mind and actions.  I’ve witnessed someone who has embellished the truth significantly and after telling that same story it begins to take on more of a life itself then it started out with, after  a while the story teller has told this story so many times that they start to believe every single part of it and it becomes their truth.  Imagine if you try this same process but with a positive change that you want to create, so let’s say with ourselves, most of us have an issue with some area of our own self-image and when I read the book “The Secret” this exercise was in there too.  I do believe that we can change ourselves in any area with thoughts simply by seeing a minimal change and empowering it positively, like the story teller that embellished the truth, you start to believe you are seeing the change and it grows from there and becomes your truth, honestly I’ve tried this myself and it has worked.  Our mind and thoughts can do greater things than we realize.  It doesn’t mean you do nothing and expect change but you do have to make adjustments to encourage what you hope to see change and starting out small is the best way to see progress.

You definitely NEED to be the change you want to see and when things begin to go in that direction, embrace it and encourage it wholeheartedly.

The decision, determination and drive to embrace and keep the positive rolling and on the right track is fully in your control.

The positive state of being can move mountains and can reduce difficulty that may have previously blocked your way.  Sometimes a good dose of positive enlightenment can help to put things into perspective.  Obviously you aren’t actually going to physically see a mountain move but how we perceive blockage in our life can be altered simply by recognizing that there are situations that could be and are much worse than what we believe as hindering our lives.  What we encourage and embrace as our fate or luck is what will continue to occur in our daily lives until we make that shift into the positive state of being.  Why would anyone embrace or accept the things they don’t want to see continue in their lives?  There are many self-deprecating reasons we choose to but none of them are really true or what we deserve, we just think we do and that’s what keeps up in that state.

When you have even one little moment, one smidgen of positivity occur, grab on with all you’ve got and don’t let go.  It will be your wisest and best decision and like any state of being it can spiral.  I don’t know about you but if something is going to spiral out of control, I want it to be the positive!

Negativity Bites!

There are Definitely Side Effects

We develop a connection to everything that inhabits our thoughts (whether we intend to or not), any kind of conversation that is meant to reflect on another person in a negative light is something that I don’t have any desire to make connection to but there are times when we either consciously or unknowingly enter into that zone.

I have had instances where I am in a conversation with someone and somewhere around the middle that person begins to speak negatively about another person (sometimes someone I know and sometimes not).  Either way I find at that point I feel trapped because I am already engaged in the conversation and I don’t want to be rude but:

–          Do I stop them in mid-sentence and tell them I can’t continue because it feels too negative and degrading to that person?

–          Or do I allow them to continue because I’ll just tune it out and eventually they will be done because I don’t want the conflict or discomfort?

It’s a sensitive decision because you don’t want to offend the person you are talking with and no one wants to hear that you don’t want to listen to what they have to say but at the same time why should you have to be subjected to the negativity and possibly be infected by it?

I’ve determined that there are 3 reasons people may choose to speak of others in a negative light.

  1. They get some sort of pleasure out of another’s misfortune
  2. They themselves are insecure and feel much more empowered about their own life
  3. There is some sort of payoff (whatever that may be)

Ultimately when you are speaking of anyone in a negative light you are creating a cycle of negativity within yourself that will continue to spin and not in a good way.

Negativity bites!  Once you start down that path it can spiral you into an even more negative place, a place that you never thought you’d be in and you may wonder how you got there to begin with.  I believe it starts with the thought, that thought connects to your emotion and then the words start to flow in that direction.

Disconnecting from that cycle is the best conscious decision you can make for yourself and finding a way that works best for you to enforce those boundaries needs to feel comfortable to be successful.

I think that the best solution for me is to relay to the person I am talking with that I do not feel comfortable talking about another person in a negative manner.  I am definitely sensitive in many different areas of my life and enforcing boundaries continues to be a challenge but one that I must persevere in so that I continue to live my life in way that doesn’t feel disloyal to my inner spirit.
