Rise or Fall

What Is Your Objective?

Are you going to let the difficult times determine your value and quality of life?

Are you going to build your future on a foundation of pains from the past?

Or you going to let it inspire you to change the direction to a more positive outcome?

with-everything-that-has-happened

When you are feeling stuck which I think everyone has at one time or another (hopefully not too often) you are presented with an opportunity.  The only problem is most of the time you don’t see it as opportunity because when you’re in that place of feeling stuck there are other emotions going on that cloud your view.

The opportunity is change!  Changing your thoughts, changing your attitude, changing your outlook and ultimately changing your life direction.

When you move in the direction of positive change it alters everything in your life:

  • It starts with you and your thoughts, do they sway a little stronger one way or the other (positive or negative side)? What you tell yourself, especially from your subconscious impacts how you feel and how you feel impacts how you interact with others.
  • When your thoughts change so do your interactions with others and how you view and perceive them. Things that possibly annoyed you before begin to become not so important, not because someone else has changed but because you have.
  • When your attitude changes that changes your outlook and your world around you becomes less offensive, not because others have changed but because you have. It’s not “what you get is what you see”, it’s actually “what you see is what you get”.

I’m not going to lie, it’s hard to change your thinking around when you are coming from the place of feeling stuck.  It’s hard to find something solid to stand on so you can rise up from whatever has put you in this place but it is possible.

It takes only a quick shift of thought, that lightning moment to change the direction.  I know that when I get an idea in my head I don’t let it go until I’ve exhausted everything trying.

No one is a failure for trying something that didn’t work, not trying will do more damage to you emotionally through regret than any effort ever made that didn’t work.

Vulnerability is the only way and it’s scary to put yourself out there especially when you don’t know the answers or feel you aren’t ready or strong enough to have them heard but it is such a freeing place to be.  When you allow yourself to be vulnerable there’s nothing left to hide, nothing left to expose or exploit, that changes it into power, personal power!

Whatever caused you to feel stuck is usually not something external but something you find the answers for internally.  Circumstance is just that and circumstance cannot hinder your personal power only you can do that by thinking you are powerless to change a situation.

All situations can be challenged and possibly changed and feeling stuck is only a state of mind, one caused by your own resistance of thinking you are powerless.

Bottom line is you need to be the change you wish to see!

You Must Be The Change You Wish To See!

All Gestures Matter

Change doesn’t happen to you, it happens for you.  When change occurs try to accept and embrace that it’s the catalyst to propel you in a different and better direction.  Having appreciation at that moment can be difficult but knowing within that everything works out as it’s meant to for the betterment of you and those around you is the silent blessing.  Sometimes certain changes push us into directions we ought to have found ourselves but are too preoccupied or unaware to see.  Taking your own form of a “time out” to become aware of the benefits behind your changes whether they are apparent at the time or not is a great way to ground and humble yourself.

Recognizing and having gratitude for the basics that you live with every day is a good way to keep yourself in check, it’s easy to forget and/or take for granted that they are in fact luxuries.  There are many people that can’t perform the basic tasks simply because they have limitations and most of them are grateful for what they can do, are you?  It starts with the little things, the little gestures, and this is no different, on the smaller scale if you want to see more people offering a moment of kindness to strangers, then start offering it to strangers yourself.  You must be the change you wish to see!

present moment

It doesn’t matter what end of the scale you are on the concept is all the same and when you start paying attention to the smaller things and having appreciation for them, the bigger things change from wants and needs to “it would be great if it happened but I appreciate what I have” because your level of gratitude has been elevated.  As a result more of what is in alignment with your state of gratitude shows up in your life and while it may appear to feel like luck it’s actually just more of what you are starting to gravitate toward and embrace.

An attitude of gratitude tends to shift your perception which as a result changes your reality and the way you connect with those around you.  We are all universally connected to one another but don’t always realize it because there is so much else going on around us, in our lives and in the world.

It doesn’t matter what you call it (God, source, a higher power, the universe) the essence of that which connects us all to each other is very real, even though we don’t always sense and/or feel every other person’s emotions they are there and usually just under the surface.  I think we feel and notice more when something on a global scale or more intense level brings that sense of human emotion to the forefront.

Connecting with others is the true essence of authenticity because it binds you in such unspeakable ways you can’t even explain, you just feel it.  These are the golden connections and are as rare as they are pure, the ones where you almost don’t have to say anything but feel an abundance of love through the connection.  It touches your soul so deeply that you feel as one and not because you’ve blended together but because these unexpressed or guarded emotions which are rarely on open display are sitting just below the surface waiting for the right person to inspire them out.

The more I see these kinds of conversations and changes going on around me and in the world, the more I believe in the value and promise of positive change.

There is no shortage of inspiration for being the changes you wish to see, everyone inherently wants to connect with others, that’s what we are all here for, to make connection.  Things get skewed and foggy when presented with the opportunity at times and I think that’s because vulnerability, a large level of openness is required to make the real difference.  It is a scary step to take because of fear, fear of feeling too exposed, too open and too available for criticism.kiefer-sutherland-kiefer-sutherland-the-most-significant-piece-of

Real changes, real opportunities and real moments happen outside of your comfort zone, take a step out there and give it a try, you won’t regret it.

You must be the change you wish to see!

I think what is authentic about this statement I found quoted by Kiefer Sutherland is that I believe it applies to all aspects of life and not just acting which is what he is referencing.  My take from it is that when you “believe in the moment” it is when you are being your most authentic, with authenticity comes a sense of truth.  When you are being genuine with others it is felt, recognized and appreciated and as a result reciprocated.  When you trade the protective walls of personal security for authenticity you increase the opportunity for connection and I believe “being the change you wish to see”.

The Power of the Positive Mind

Will Change Your Life!

The power of the positive mind can achieve and/or change anything when the belief that there can be no other outcome is fully embraced.

If I have a vision of the outcome I see/seek it is quite difficult for anyone to sway my thinking from that outcome and believe me I’ve had others try, they want to be the voice of reason for the purpose of preventing me from feeling so let down when it doesn’t happen. Has this ever happened to you?

You are the one that decides which side of the light you intend to stand for, belief or disbelief and the key to igniting your belief lies within your subconscious.

  • Where do you really see the outcome to your experience going?
  • Do you hope and believe for the best but subconsciously expect that it won’t go that way?

The answers to those questions have to resonate within your soul without external influence and no matter what you may say out loud to try to convince yourself otherwise, your inner voice always knows the truth. If your subconscious mind does not believe, your conscious mind does not stand a chance.

every thought we think

My daughter was born 3 ½ months premature and weighed 1 lb, 7 oz, she didn’t look much bigger than a pound of butter. I understand the doctors have to make you aware of all the possible outcomes and right away it was 50/50 chance that she survive 12 hours, the next day it was the same chances that she survive the next 24 hours, and then 48. Following that were the possible outcomes of life challenges ahead and there were still challenges that would present while she was in the hospital but even though there were bumps along that road I knew in my subconscious that my belief was true. She was coming home and I could envision it easily, for me there was no other outcome and there wasn’t. She’s 15 now and has some challenges but she’s here and we have a lot more time ahead of us to change even more outcomes ahead.

I firmly believe that my unwavering positive thoughts toward her coming home had been the trailblazer for affecting this outcome. It’s the Law of Attraction, what you think about expands, your thoughts are manifested into your reality simply because there is no room for any other outcome! You must believe! It’s not just that I thought it and it became the reality, I made room for it and I continued on with my plans for her expectant arrival home.

I could have easily focused on the reasons as to why she was born premature and let those be the dominant thoughts in my mind, place blame and say “why her, why me”, but how exactly is that going to help my daughter? Not at all!

She needed as much positive energy and thoughts as I could give her and “what if” didn’t matter anymore because here we were, going forward, seeking to change how things were going to turn out was the only option, going back was not. There was no way I was just going to accept something without even taking a shot at trying to change it especially with the beliefs I felt so deeply.

There was another woman across from me in the hospital that also had a premature baby and I noticed something one day that re-affirmed my thoughts about my energy as well as others and how we can easily affect others with it. While I was in the Neonatal nursery one day I saw and said hello when she arrived, she went over to sit with her baby as all the mothers would do. The situation and environment is not easy because your maternal instincts are to protect and nurture your babies but you can’t because they are too tiny and need the doctors.

I hadn’t heard any of the monitors go off for her baby until she arrived, she was rubbing his tiny head and crying (which is understandable, it is a difficult situation) but later on she said she’d heard me talking to someone in the hospital room we shared and asked how I could be so positive given the situation. What I realized from her question was that she wasn’t able to feel the positive thoughts, she wasn’t able to see ahead and realize there was no other than a positive outcome and was therefore transmitting that energy into her baby’s energy causing him to stress.

Babies don’t know but they feel and even though pre-teens, teens and adults can recognize or understand it a little better we are still susceptible to absorbing the energy others are transmitting.

Energy is very real and very powerful and when used wisely can be a positive force in any experience.

If you want to effectively change an outcome you have to put all your energy into it and if you have half your energy in the past it’s of no use to you because you can’t change it, all you can do is move forward and see the outcome you want happen.

I think many of us do not realize how much power lies within us to effect change in our lives, through behaviour, attitude, thoughts and actions. Think about something that you excel at whether it is work, sports or play and when you are “in that zone” you are tapped into the Universe and all its positive power and since you are excelling it’s quite likely that you are in a state of oneness and peace with your inner core.

So let’s use sports as an example because as an eternal athlete at heart I can better articulate my point. I think any sport whether it is single player or a team requires you to be able to see the picture moves ahead to effect the outcome you want whether it is sinking that putt or the tic-tac-toe team play moves to put the puck in the net.

I realize not every single shot works in that same way because of course then there would be no competition and the games would be boring. Everything cannot perfectly fall into place every time and the reason it doesn’t is because not everyone believes in their subconscious that there is no other outcome, sometimes the negative thoughts get in and mess things up. If you are going to put up any walls in your mind and in your life, put them up against the negative.

The positive mind has no room available for anything other than positive thoughts and positive thoughts produce positive outcomes. If you want to effectively change and/or re-direct your life you must believe in your thoughts, yourself and the only outcome you are interested in seeing.

Keep your subconscious in check……….there is no other outcome!

What You Can Become!

Closing the Gaps

It’s not how long you live, it’s what you do with the time you are here! If you want or expect positive experiences and blessings to occur you must make room for them to manifest and exist in your life. Pursue them with everything you’ve got and rest only when you are satisfied!successful mindset

Quote by Leonardo da Vinci:

“It has long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.”

It starts with you!

  • Do you really want what you desire?
  • Or do you believe that it should come to you?

These are the defining questions that determine the ultimate direction of your life and your desired goals.

Positively speaking; if you really want what you desire you will go after it without any thought other than success. You must believe in yourself and your goal wholeheartedly and when your belief is this strong there is no room for anything other than success. Everything I have put my heart, mind and soul into has been successful and not for any other reason than that I left no room for any other result. Your belief can actually produce the result and if this sounds crazy to you then put it to the test, I dare you!

Keep in mind that the belief must be felt within every fibre of your being, you cannot half-heartedly pretend to believe in something and in the back of your mind not believe it as that is counter-productive and the reason it WILL fail.

Negatively speaking; if you believe what you desire should come to you then you are already in the wrong frame of mind and the one that will not manifest anything other than an increase in that negative thinking. Intention and attitude are everything when it comes to manifesting your goals and dreams. Appreciation and gratitude for all that you have been blessed with so far is the only way to change a negative frame of mind. If you think or believe that you’ve just not been given the opportunities you deserve I hope that you already see and realize that you are blocking yourself. There is an abundance of opportunities but when you don’t have appreciation for the little things you end up building a wall around you that prevents you from ever seeing the bigger things you have access to.

The same statement as above applies here as well except in opposite effect. If you are unable to connect or tap into the abundance that the Universe has to offer it is because you believe within every fibre of your being that it should come to you. Good Luck with that!

Yes there are times when what we work toward doesn’t go as we may have envisioned but in my experiences I’ve discovered that it has always led me to something better. Even though a vision changes or is changed for another reason I still view it as success because it takes me in a direction that I never considered and it’s always a better fit for me. I believe that what we envision and the directions we seek to go in are ultimately and divinely guided by the Universe and I have no reason to question that. I know the Universe is a force of all things positive and there is no better reinforcement than that.

Everything I have been taught from the time I can remember through every experience has provided me with the incentive I need to passionately pursue what I desire without pause. If you really want something, you go for it, bottom line!

Words are great, they can be inspiring and motivating, but actions are what prove the words true!

actions, words

Sometimes You Have to Travel a Long Road

To Go a Short Distance!

It doesn’t matter what others do, it matters what you do!

Every occurrence, circumstance or event happens for a reason and usually that reason is connected to our own higher learning. I’ve thought in the past that when someone treated me in a way that was either manipulative, disrespectful or both that they deserved eternal condemnation but that’s not for me to decide. The Universe will handle it appropriately and in the right time, I need to trust in that, step back and draw some better boundaries to ensure it doesn’t happen again. We teach others how to treat us and honestly I’ve been a little too lax in my teachings in the past. I’ve often thought that the way I treated someone would be teaching enough as to how I also wanted to be treated but their intention in life may not be in alignment with mine. Learning how to decipher their intention and find only those that are in alignment with my intention is the lesson I am still fine-tuning.

I’ve always been someone that is super motivated to get to the next level so I can find out what the level after that is and so forth. I’ve come across people who live in a negative energy but have learned how to display passion that they also want to get to the next level but the truth of it is that if they wanted to get to the next level they would be doing something, anything, to be trying to get there and the lack that seems to be stalling them in place is really their own will or desire. The issue for them is that they have become content, familiar and/or addicted to their story because it serves as a great example/reason for the obstacles that prevent them from moving forward. The problem that will continue to plague them is that they are living in a negative mindset or point of view and that prevents the Universe from bringing the positive light in so the life that they secretly hope for but believe they don’t deserve can manifest.

live your truth

Imagine if you were meant for great things, which I believe we all are, we aren’t here to suffer, we are here to build and grow our souls so they can flourish but that can’t happen if a wall of negativity is blocking it from getting through. The biggest hurdle to letting all the good things get in is tearing down that wall and embracing that which makes you feel vulnerable or scared. Every time a monumental moment occurs hesitation is always there and rightly so, all monumental moments are the cusp of some impending change that will likely alter you in every area of life, which is why they are so scary and why we hesitate. Taking a leap of faith into unknown and unfamiliar territory is unnerving to say the least but every time I’ve ever done it I’ve never been disappointed, not even once! Even if it hasn’t led me to where I thought I was going, it has led me to something better.

It may seem easier, less scary, to keep yourself safely behind the protective armor of a negative mindset because at least you’re familiar with it, no one can hurt you there because you are already in defensive/protective mode but no good can get in either. So what you block out that hurts also prevents that which is good from getting through, I ask you, what’s more hurtful?

Even though the bad stuff feels rough, hurts and sometimes feels too overwhelming to overcome, it still comes with its gifts. That which does not kill me, only makes me stronger!

The more of the tough experiences you go through the stronger you get, the more resilient you get, the more capable you are of reaching for what you want and succeeding and when you combine that with embracing all things positive you more than double the power you’ve already gained from your experiences.

Sometimes you have to travel a long road to go a short distance. Imagine what you can do when you realize how powerful you already are!

When Opportunity Knocks

Are you going to Answer It?

Not everything always goes as planned and most of the time that is a good thing because even though I think I know best, I’m often shown that I don’t.  When the universe throws me a curve ball it usually propels me into a direction I wouldn’t have chosen but one that ultimately turns out to be the better path.

opportunity

The gifts of the opportunities I’ve had have been wisdom, experience, faith, and many more, all of which I need on the road ahead.  My own personal mantra is to have no regrets, I don’t want to ever wonder “what if” so I make sure I take advantage of every opportunity that comes my way, even if I’m not sure of it because I believe that the Universe doesn’t make mistakes, everything is meant to teach us something!

There is benefit to every door that opens, just because you haven’t seen something yet doesn’t mean it’s not there.  Sometimes you just have to expand your awareness and have faith that “everything happens for a reason”, all will be shown when the time is in sync with your awareness.  In reflection I know that there have been times when I’ve had the same synchronized moment occur that I didn’t get the first time it was shown but did later when my awareness was more in sync.

If you live your life never taking advantage of the opportunities that come your way you are depriving yourself of the possibility of something really great happening, something you never could have predicted or envisioned.  Even if you feel slightly afraid of taking that step forward I think you will find that in doing so not only are you confronting your fears but you are empowering yourself.  Empowerment is exhilarating, scary at times, but exhilarating and the more you choose to take that risk, the more the opportunities will show up in your life.

three simple rules

Our existence is all energy and our energy is increased or decreased depending on which side of it you are feeding.  If you are working to expand your awareness and build your faith in the universe it will respond and if it’s not responding as quickly as you would like then that may be because you have not yet reached that synchronicity.  The Universe will give you signs, not all of them are as prominent as you may like but don’t give up, the signs are the indication that you are going in the right direction.  Your gut instinct is the confirmation that those signs are real, don’t ignore it.

Not everyone experiences the opportunities the same, it all depends on your comfort level with chance and your willingness to answer that door.

There have been many different paths I have taken so far and I’m sure many more to come, I intend to continue trying each and every one.  Without the trial and error we don’t have the opportunity to stumble upon the life and purpose that is perfectly suited for each of us.

Perfection is the beauty you see in your opportunities, they are not a “one size fits all”, they fit only with you.

taking chances

Pure Luck!

Charmed or Not?

feeling luckyLuck is golden and not to be discarded lightly, we all have it but we either don’t know it, don’t tap into it, or it may be that we don’t recognize it.  I believe your luck (good or bad) is tied in to your outlook and state of being, are you positive or negative minded?  Add in the Law of Attraction (like attracts like) to that mix and you can reap some serious benefits, or not, it depends on you.

The Law of Attraction (your thoughts become your reality) is always operating and if you believe you are lucky or unlucky, the universe will respond according to that belief.  If you are saying phrases like “If it weren’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have any luck at all” you are already destroying your chances of having anything positive occur because your choices within that sentence are bad luck or no luck.  The further this belief gets ingrained the more of this luck you will see show up in your life, wouldn’t it be of more benefit to get your mind over to the positive side of this instead?

I myself, have always been lucky, and the more I embrace and encourage that postivitity the more good luck I experience, it’s a cycle that continues to flow.  Of all the cycles that have the chance of continually repeating this is one I hope everyone opens themselves up to because not only are there the benefits of good luck but that shift to the positive opens your world up to a much healthier way of life.

Do you know people that you view as being lucky?  What is it about them that you believe is creating this good luck?  Are you associating their luck or your own with a feeling of being deserving of it?

Luck is not a designation it’s impartial, it’s not doled out to those that deserve or don’t deserve it, it begins with you and your content or discontent within your life.  We attract things to us (people or circumstances) that are in alignment with ourselves, if you want to change your luck, simply start by changing your attitude.  If you have someone in mind that you feel has an attitude or outlook that you admire or wish you had, then start there.  I don’t mean be a clone of someone but maybe adopt or adapt the traits or qualities that serve you and are most in alignment with who you are as a person and it is likely that you will start to see your life change for the better and the luck that you have held at bay for so long will finally be able to get through.

Appreciating all aspects of good fortune creates the chain reaction similar to a snowball rolling down a hill in that it continues to grow as it gathers speed.  It’s not so much that it crashes or explodes when it finally reaches the bottom of the hill but rather the impact causes it to sprinkle and spread out the crystals of fortune onto all areas of its path.

By far the most important state of being needed to allow your luck to flourish is gratitude and embracing that state in every area will change your life beyond anything you could have ever imagined.

Now I’ll ask again, are you charmed or not?  It’s really all up to you!

gratitude quote

It’s All About Your Image

How Healthy is it?

I think everyone at one time or another, or maybe still, has had an unhealthy view of how they perceive themselves when they look in the mirror or step on the scale.  It seems like every aspect of life is incessantly defined and examined through various outlets of media attention highly focused on body image and the labels that are attached to it.

The negative focus on body image that is determining what is and isn’t beautiful is being projected by way of judgement and it’s so very wrong.  We are all individuals, unique only to ourselves, how can one projection of what is beautiful possibly be a one size fits all for everyone, there are distinct pieces of beauty within all of us.  You may have had the moment, as I’ve had, of staring in the mirror or at a picture taken and picking out all the imperfections that you see but not everyone sees those specific imperfections.  That is the part of us that is searching to measure up to the portrayal of “what beauty is” and it only takes one remark that pokes fun at that soft spot and it can possibly send you down the road of hurt and self-loathing, no one should have to endure that.

I’ve never defined who I associate with based on anything other than the person I see within, we are either compatible or we aren’t, and outward beauty has absolutely nothing to do with it.  I don’t believe that beauty is defined simply by appearance, not to say I don’t notice someone at first glance that has physical beauty but the real deal is beneath what we see on the surface.  The most significant aspect of a healthy body image starts from the inside out and the main concern should be physical health.  As long as your own physical health is not threatened than I say do what pleases you with pride.

Everything in our life affects what we project outwardly and what we project outwardly is a large part of our beauty and can be deeply affected by the positive or negative attitude of choice.  From my own experiences, I’ve noticed that I’m drawn to both the positive and negative for two very different reasons.

Those that have a positive attitude and state of being are usually energetic, ambitious and happy, I find their company to be alluring, intoxicating and contagious.

I’m drawn to some (not all) that have a negative attitude because my desire to share, inspire and cultivate the positive is so strong and I do believe that half of that negativity is not being able to see their own beauty.

The effects of other’s opinions can definitely contaminate our personal views of our own body image which then derails our confidence and self-esteem, and that opens up the breeding ground for negativity.  That negativity can alter our physical appearance in ways we couldn’t have expected.

How you view your personal appearance is significant to you first, it’s not about what others think you should or shouldn’t wear, eat or shouldn’t eat;  it’s about how you feel.  I think that when you are feeling most comfortable and healthy within your own skin you will find that the beauty you then project outward will be one of contentment and confidence in:

–          Knowing who you are

–          Embracing who you are

–          Loving who you are

When this point is reached it becomes really easy to let go of the expectations or labels that you may have allowed to temporarily change who you are and that opens the door to a much happier and healthier personal image.

Ingredients for Life!

Life Equals Pie

I was given a fabulous concept from a very good friend of mine for a great topic this week!  The concept is creating an analogy between our life journeys and a favorite dessert and all the ingredients and layers create our own recipe for personal success, whatever that may be.

Much like the ingredients in any dessert, depending on which one you choose, there are usually layers and levels of design.  I’ve chosen Banana Cream Pie because it would contain a good level of ingredients to create this analogy.

Banana Cream Pie:

  • 3 cups of Love
  • 2 cups of Integrity
  • 2 cups of Pride
  • 1 cup of Self-Respect
  • 1 cup of Respect for others
  • 1 cup of Positive Attitude
  • ½ cup of Compassion
  • ½ cup of Empathy
  • 3 tablespoons of Confidence
  • 3 tablespoons of Determination
  • 3 tablespoons of Courage
  • A dash of Assertiveness
  • 12 ounces of water for personal wellness

Frosting:   The Law of Attraction

  • 1 cup of Intention
  • 1 cup of Faith
  • 1 cup of Appreciation
  • 1 cup of Gratitude

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together until they are well blended and you are feeling content.  I was going to add an ingredient to enhance humility but I believe that the emotion of remaining humble would be experienced as a result of living life through Banana Cream Pie.

Serve it to anyone and everyone you so desire and utilize the ingredients to your fullest potential.

I realize that the amounts of all the ingredients I have contained in this recipe are quite excessive but it is a global pie meant to feed the souls of as many as possible.  The frosting is also excessive but it is the Law of Attraction, and that’s exactly where you want to get really excessive in your vision and life.  You will attract exactly what you think and believe!
