Change is Inevitable!

Let Go and Embrace It

Sometimes when we are forced into actions it’s because we should have found the way ourselves, sometimes when change occurs it’s because it’s long overdue, and sometimes we make the transition effortlessly.  Whichever way it happens is something that will be specific to each of us as individuals but the circumstances surrounding any change will be determined by either your resistance or acceptance.  I have travelled both paths at different times in my life and I can definitely say that acceptance is the easier of the two.  Resistance has always brought me disappointment, hurt, frustration and overall a heavy dose of unnecessary stress.  For some individuals change can be very challenging for reasons other than just resisting or accepting.

change

There are many reasons why we resist:

–          We think we know better

–          It’s unknown and we feel vulnerable and/or a little scared

–          Others are advising us to go that route

Of course the ego always thinks it knows better and it’s easy for you to convince yourself that you do know better, that ego is connected to you.  I’m not saying you have no idea what’s going on, I’m just saying that every time I’ve allowed my ego to run the show it hasn’t been a good idea because as much as the ego may think it knows better, ultimately it doesn’t.  The ego isn’t tapped into the same frequency as the universal mind so it can’t possibly know everything.

When things are unknown they can leave you feeling vulnerable and a little scared of what’s to come as well as hesitant to take that step forward.  When I’ve had this feeling it’s been because I was on the verge of experiencing a major change and positive growth that I couldn’t have possibly foreseen.  Every time so far it has been a positive step forward for me so I’ve learned to recognize when that moment comes around that I definitely want to go in that direction, experience has taught me that.

I don’t mind constructive criticism, it helps me to learn and grow as an individual but I don’t usually welcome being told what to do.  Somewhere in my psyche I find that in those times I become resistant because I feel pressured to go in the direction that someone is advising me.  Now that person may not actually be pressuring me but I may be receiving it that way and reacting because of that sense.  Some people will actually go in an entirely different direction simply because someone is advising them one way and even if they know it’s the right way to go they go in another direction because they are so resistant to the direction and/or assistance.

Regardless of what reasoning you have behind it chances are your resistance is causing you more stress overall than if you were to just let go and let things happen as they are meant to.

Change overall is the universe’s way of transitioning us into the direction we are meant to go and when you ignore the signs and resist the change you are only causing yourself more difficulty and stress.  When you are resisting change, the universe sometimes responds with a jolt in the direction you’re supposed to be going so if your life suddenly changes I believe it’s because you’ve been ignoring the signs for so long that this is the only way the universe can alert you.  Sometimes this alert can cause you to experience hurt emotions and I don’t believe that this is any sort of payback or karma, it’s just that if you get too far off your path there’s only one way for the universe to get you back on it in time.

Be mindful, stay aware and tuned in to what’s going on around you, pay attention to your path, the signs and those in your life.  We are all here to bring meaning to each other’s lives, teach, learn and grow.  Let your desires help lead you to your passion and purpose, don’t be in too much of a rush, it will find you when the time is right.

Life’s Lessons!

Discovering the Silver Lining

We all have many lessons to learn throughout our lifetime and of course the lessons are different for every one of us.  No two people are alike, therefore no two lessons will be alike, there may be similarities but they are uniquely designed for each of us.  How we experience them depends on many factors, for instance below are what I believe are the factors I needed to allow myself to move forward in my life towards my purpose and passion.

1)      I had to be Open

–          If my mind and heart were not open I would not be in an available space of mind to be able to receive the signs and guidance I was given.  Not everything comes in the package we expect and sometimes we have to expand our awareness to understand.

2)      I had to be in Alignment ( Law of Attraction )

–          To be in alignment with the  universe and all that it has to offer I had to be in a positive state of mind.  What you think of is what you attract, if I was in a negative state of mind I would attract everything that I don’t want because those would be the dominant thoughts.

3)      I had to be Aware

–          The bigger picture is my goal and where I want to get to.  Along the way are just the daily routines and obstacles that I could not afford  let bother or impede me and keep my eye on the prize.

4)      I had to be Objective

–          I had to work very hard to learn to be objective when reflecting on my experiences, it can be very difficult to step outside yourself and look at a situation objectively when you are emotionally connected.

How we perceive the signs, guidance and lessons we are given is something that is specifically hard-wired to each of us as individuals, the ultimate key is to be open within your mind and your heart and let your imagination flow.

I believe that everything that we experience is divinely connected to a higher power and that there is a master plan only we are not aware of it.  I say this because in looking back I’ve found that I needed all the experiences I’ve had up to this point to get to where I am now, without them I may not have gone in the direction I am going or it may have taken much longer than it already has.  My experiences have helped to prepare me for the future I am meant to live and I know it doesn’t stop here, there are many more experiences that I’m sure are on the horizon (good and bad) that will help elevate me to the level I need to be at to make the contribution in this world that I want to make and that I am meant to make.

Signs Are All Around Us!

Pay Attention to Your Life

It’s amazing how many signs are actually around us on a daily basis that we miss.  Sometimes it’s because:

  1. We aren’t paying close enough attention to our lives
  2. The signs aren’t speaking loud enough for us
  3. We are ignoring them

Any one of these prevent us from experiencing what could potentially be an empowering personal growth opportunity.  These signs sometimes create those “aha” moments that we all seek,  those moments that lead us to a higher understanding and level.  I absolutely love those moments and I am constantly looking around for the greater reason behind all of my experiences in every part of my life because I know it’s there.  There are times when I am fully engaged and paying attention and still cannot see the signs.  Sometimes this is because I am too closely connected to any given situation to  have the clarity I need but I persevere because I am very committed to finding my reason for being.  I believe that in the grand scheme of things we are all connected to each other through a higher level, a higher sense of being, a higher power,  it’s just a matter of tapping into it.  Paying Attention!

Our inner voice is always whispering to us and when I don’t pay attention, I get a shove, not literally, but one that says “hey, start listening to me”.   I’ve had times when I really disregarded my inner voice and ended up in an emotional and/or physical state of being that could have been avoided if I had been paying attention to the signs within and around me.  Our inner voice, gut instinct, intuition, whatever you want to call it, is wise beyond what we can understand and every time I choose not to listen I get thumped!  It’s the equivalent of the “I told you so”, except there is no judgment and the consequence is already occurring.

If you have an undesirable scenario that keeps playing within your life like a broken record and you keep ending up in the same place then it may be time to step back and analyze that so you are able to find a more productive and positive outcome.

Knowing how far things can progress in a situation before clarity and insight can finally occur depends on each individual, how in tune they are with themselves and how devoted they really are to getting in touch with their reason for being.

Everyone has their daily routines but don’t go through them blindly, our lives aren’t just supposed to be existing, they should be a living experience.

  • Be fully engaged
  • Be committed
  • Be aware
  • Ask questions
  • Pay attention

Enhancing the Faith

Another Level of Contentment

I thought that I had found my fullest form of Contentment when  I finished writing my 1st book Finding the Balance but as it turns out I had only just stepped onto that path.  When I finished it I felt a certain level of contentment, the key word here is level, something I have come to understand and recognize after some time has passed.  When it comes to personal growth the period of time it takes is different for everyone because of our individuality and because we all learn in our own time.  What I should have considered is that with all areas of learning there are many levels and varying degrees and I had only thought I reached full contentment because I felt more empowered, engaged and aware.  Little did I know that there was much more, much better to come.

I now know that what I had experienced then was a level of contentment because I now feel that I have moved to another level.  The only way I can describe this level is – it feels to be an unshakable faith in myself, where I am, where I’m going and that all things will occur as they are destined to along the way.  This level of contentment reinforces my belief that everything (positive and negative) happens for a reason.  Both are meant to teach and bring us to a higher level of ourselves and without them we may remain stuck in a never ending cycle of frustration and confusion.

If I allow the little things to bother me along the way I am allowing my ego to inhibit my own growth cycle and that is not something I want to do in any way.  Of course there are still times when something I did not expect occurs but my reactive behavior to these unexpected occurrences is starting to adopt a more negotiable mind and I am approaching things from a far more relaxed state of being.   I’m not entirely sure if this is something that comes with age, experience, time or all of these but I welcome it because it’s providing me with such a unique, profound and irreplaceable  form of happiness.   Within this level I have also discovered a greater passion, a greater reason and a greater experience within my purpose.

Part of the change is my focus and where I am directing my attention to and where I’m taking it away from.  I’m directing more towards where I want to go, what I want to achieve, how I want to get there and what I want to project along the way.

I’m retracting it from the trivial areas, areas that my ego contributes to.  We all have an ego, the hardest thing to do, at times, is to keep that ego in check.  It can divert our minds into focusing on things that shouldn’t really bother us.  I think we’ve all had one of those days when we got dragged down to a level of communication and behavior that we later regret, that’s our ego winning the battle.  It can wreak havoc within our lives when we allow it to carry our thoughts away from the bigger picture.

This really is something that comes from within and I’ve found that in everything I do and commit to if my subconscious isn’t in it 100% then I won’t succeed.  I wish I could offer a “one size fits all” process that would help everyone to get to their own “greater meaning of their life”.  My own journey to has had its share of ups and downs along the way but knowing how far I’ve come and having faith that there is so much more on the way makes it entirely worth it.

There is a quiet strength and resilience hidden with the state of Contentment.  My personal peace and happiness have become the most important state of being that I covet.
