The Tender Space of Hurt

Where does it all begin?

If you’ve ever been the one to inflict emotional hurt on another you may not realize how damaging your actions are, alternatively if that is your intent then you are very aware and obviously not operating from the best place of your souls’ purpose.

If you have been the recipient of this kind of action you already know the extensive damage it causes on the deepest part of your soul and so do those around you. What you feel and experience has a direct and outward effect on those closest to you.

Ever had a bad day come home and bark at everyone around you? I know I have and it’s not something I desire at all!

Through my own experiences as well as observation of others the tender space of hurt is vast and sometimes long-lasting. I believe the long-lasting effects are significantly reduced when the source of the hurt is acknowledged, validated and the recipient is allowed to have their voice heard.don't let others hurt others

Brushing something off, under the rug, ignorance is bliss, etc., does absolutely nothing to correct or abate the hurt in fact it can only make it grow, sometimes to an irreparable amount.   What follows can be a multitude of negative thoughts which turn into negative attitude, outlook and/or behaviour.

Keep in mind that action, reaction and inaction are all actions, each come with results and consequence. If you choose to ignore or overlook any of these the result may be that it diminishes your ability to connect with others, especially those you may really want to. You may end up closing yourself off from the world whether it is by choice or default because you just don’t know how to communicate or listen.

Awareness is the key to connecting with everything in your life, everything that is meaningful, supportive and loving. It is through your own heightened awareness that you can connect on every level with others and in the form that your soul seeks in finding the greater meaning of life. I think everyone at one time or another has wondered about their purpose, the big picture, the grand design of their lives and what it is all supposed to mean. What do you do when an emotional hurt changes the course of that interest and fills your thoughts and time with negativity?

I’m sure we’ve all been there; having the anticipatory thoughts of conversations, what we want to say to another, how we want to respond, how we expect them to respond. All of this is wasted time in your life and likely never to happen. I know because I’ve been there with those thoughts and honestly not one time have any of those anticipatory conversations ever occurred. Can you believe how much of my precious time I wasted with that when I could have been doing something that was much more beneficial for myself or someone I care about?

I may be wrong but my feeling is that when you keep coming back to a same space of hurt it is because it hasn’t been acknowledged, validated or heard. That is the central source of your emotional pain and even if you dispute that, whether you realize it or not, you are allowing that pain to maintain its residence in your heart and soul. If someone in your life keeps coming back to a specific point, know that that is their pain and if you care you will act, dismissing it only exacerbates the issue and shows them that you don’t care.

This kind of emotional hurt can stunt your progression to higher levels of awareness and connection so how do you get around it, get past it? These are the most challenging and difficult questions to answer.

Getting through or past something that has hurt the deepest part of your soul can only be accomplished by you, and only if you are willing to let it. Of course that’s easier said than done, when something has damaged your soul so extensively repair isn’t always just around the corner because you decided it would be.

I’ve had my experiences that have caused me hurt and finding the best way for you to release it is going to be a trial and error experience, what works for one doesn’t always work for another but it’s important to try and keep trying.

I can offer two options that worked for me and if they don’t work for you that’s ok, just keep trying, you deserve to be happy!

  • I’ve always found that I need to have my say, whether the one that caused me hurt is hearing it or not. Write out a letter to that person (DON’T SEND IT!) say everything you want to say, don’t hold back. Being able to get something out that’s been bottled up is a form of release and once I do that it leaves my prominent thoughts. I will always remember but I allow forgiveness, not for that person but for myself for believing that the experience could have been any different.
  • I have also tried a guided meditation, not just me trying to meditate or listening to a tape but an actual professional that guided me through it and honestly after I was done I felt lighter, more energetic and less interested in letting that experience waste any more of my life.

Sometimes it’s a small adjustment that can change your outlook and your life, sometimes it’s not so much that you’re broken but rather broken open. Being broken open isn’t as awful as it may sound, think about the atom and what was discovered when it was broken open and then imagine the other million things you haven’t discovered about yourself because they were hidden/sheltered behind a wall of protection caused by a mountain of hurt that prevented you from fully living and loving your life.

I do believe that when you are broken open you are at your most vulnerable but within that vulnerability you will discover more of yourself, your gifts, your talents and your hidden strengths. Even though allowing the space of vulnerability can be terrifying, being scared is a good thing because it means you’re on the edge of something great that is about to change your life for the better!

You Are What You Think!

Be Aware of that Power

Your thoughts influence the direction your life takes and sometimes in the opposite way you may be expecting so be mindful and careful of what you think about most.

There are two ways I’ve learned that your thoughts can manifest in your life:

  • Thinking thoughts of hate towards another befits the quote below and can effectively end up being your fate instead of the object of your dislike. It’s what you give the most thought and energy to that manifests in your life so it’s very important to be mindful of what your thoughts are. In the event that someone does you wrong then trust that the Universe enacts whatever karma is appropriate when the time is right and the karmic lesson is most likely to be effective. If you are the one that has misconceived another then know that your karmic lesson will come at the time you are most open to understanding and learning it. Karma is not meant to hurt or destroy but rather teach and it is only when you are mindfully open that you will be able to receive the higher learning so you can personally grow.

anger

  • Alternatively thinking about something you want and wishing for the shortcut without consequence to how it may arrive can manifest in the worst way. For instance you could wish for a big sum of money to arrive and the next day find that a member of your family passed and left that sum of money for you but notice the price? Not every idea or quick shortcut in life is always a good one. My personal example that taught me this exact lesson on shortcuts came 3 days before my daughter was born very premature (3 ½ months to be exact). I saw a show on T.V. that was something out of the future I guess where a doctor was experimenting with re-creating the environment of the mother’s womb so he could watch and note all stages of development of babies prior to being born. It was like a test-tube baby idea but a larger version. The day after seeing this show I was at work, knowing how terrible my morning or shall I say all day sickness seemed be which wasn’t showing any signs of leaving as I approached 6 months of pregnancy and I told a co-worker about this show I saw and said “I wouldn’t mind that since I feel so nauseous all day long” and 3 days later my water broke.

I know now that my words didn’t actually affect what had transpired and that it was just part of the bigger picture but the experience of my daughter being born early and the challenges she and I have gone through together since have brought so much more to my life than I would have experienced had it not all occurred this way but at the time it scared me so much that it taught me to be more aware and cautious with my thoughts.

With the knowledge I’ve gained now I believe it was more signs and intuition to prepare me for what was coming and even though we don’t all know what is around the corner we all have some intuition (our inner voice) to help guide and ease us into times that may be difficult.

Even though I know that this experience wasn’t meant as “teaching me a lesson” or some sort of “karmic payback” for my thoughts I still think it’s an important example to express how much power lies with our thoughts whether they are conscious, subconscious, silly or hateful.

Thoughts are power! You have more power than you may realize with them and I used the power in my thoughts to help direct and focus on empowering the strength I knew my daughter had in her which I know helped her blast through the bleak outlook the doctors had advised. Obviously when babies are born too early they aren’t as strong and healthy as when born full-term so she needed all the extra powerful thoughts I and everyone else in her family could put forth for her.

With your thoughts you can change anything and when enforced with your will that there can be no other outcome there is no way any other alternative can manifest.

Know and Believe your thoughts are very powerful!

Step by Step

Connecting to Your True Presence of Power Within

Like every goal there are small steps along the way that help you get to the end result you envision and it is no different when you are seeking a more genuine presence of awareness within your life. I think a lot of times you can end up psyching yourself out of trying something because it seems too daunting to begin but when you break it down and go through it step by step, completion doesn’t seem so overwhelming.presence

Staying present in the moments of true stillness that are found within nature or authentic surroundings precede your most beneficial and genuine choices because they are the result of true presence.

One of the best practices you can do for yourself is to find moments of silence/stillness or meditation to connect with your inner presence of power. I’ve found that every time I have I find clarity of thought, troubles that seemed to have no solution suddenly become obvious. I think that following these moments of true connection the reason clarity becomes so abundant is because you have removed the barriers and obstacles that the EGO has used to plague your mind. The EGO has no path to your inner presence which is why a lot of times when you think something is all in your head, it is because the EGO has built it up there.

If you spend too much time with your thoughts in the past or in the future you deprive yourself of the present moments. There is no benefit to re-living experiences from the past, running the reel in your mind of conversations that you’re anticipating and how you plan to respond. I think we’ve all done this, I know I have and when I give precious time away to something negative that could have been better served in any other way I get disappointed for letting myself go there because I know better.

Eckhart Tolle reiterated, during a show with Oprah Winfrey, wisdom from a Zen Master:

“A man’s need to win drains his power in the present”

Really understanding this can be very powerful, when you are focused on only the end result and don’t give your full attention to all the steps needed to get there then it is very likely you won’t realize the end you wish to see. I always find relation to the athletic side of me as I participated in a lot of team sports and I believe it applies to single player sports as well because the mindset is the same. When you are totally “in the moment” in sports you are “in the zone” and that kind of alignment is at one with your inner spirit and giving 100% to that moment. The end result is inevitable because when you commit all that is within you (your presence, your awareness, your power) there is no possible room for anything other than the end result you wish to see. You have thought about the end result but you are not staying there, you’ve seen it but now you are “in the moment”.

This applies with everything you do whether it is work or play related, when you are in the moment you are at one with your true presence of inner power, anything becomes possible!

It is only the EGO that keeps you in a space of discontent when you allow it with either thoughts of past disappointments or future anticipation of negative experiences. This is an active part of humanity that can interfere with your hopes and dreams and when you allow that disruption, it is not because you are weak but because you are not fully connected with your inner presence of power.

If allowed your EGO will wreak havoc with your life, it can either consume and/or control your behaviour or attitude. The EGO controls you by creating fear and insecurity, you must fight it! The EGO does not have your best interests in mind but rather its own and it can only be humbled by you. When you feel inner conflict, like something is off but you can’t quite put your finger on it, know that it is your ego struggling with your inner spirit for control.

Know that you are in control, you have the strength to do anything you want, all you need to do is connect with your inner presence of power and the world will be your oyster!

Below the Surface

Is Where Negativity Finds a Way In

Your experiences are meant to teach not trap and when you are unable to find the wisdom within them you prevent yourself from the growth meant to take you to the next level of your life’s journey.unforgiveness

If you are unable to even think of an experience, let alone talk about it without feeling re-affected because the hurt or disappointment from it was so significant then you haven’t allowed yourself to fully feel, grieve and let it go.

It’s very important to allow things to process out of your system, not just physically but mentally and spiritually too. All experiences have a direct effect on all three states of your well-being and if allowed can fester and grow resentment, bitterness, grudges and unforgiveness.

Feel the Pain:  Experiences that have deeply hurt your feelings have to be acknowledged, you can’t just push them aside, focus your attention elsewhere and will them to go away. They re-surface again and again in your life through similar cycles and patterns and eventually you come to a point where you are forced to deal with them. The question is are you finally going to? Or are you going to push them down deeper?

Happiness, peace of mind and balance will always elude you if you continually resist the Universe’s message.

Grieve the Loss:  It’s important to allow yourself time to grieve the loss that you feel from any experience, there is always some level of expectation in any exchange and when it’s not met resentment can occur. It’s important to acknowledge those thoughts and know that they are not wrong and are a natural result. You are allowed to feel how you feel from any experience.

Let Go:  Any Loss is loss.  Once you’ve allowed yourself to feel the pain and grieve the loss you’ll find that letting go is the easiest part of the process. It allows the weight of resentment, bitterness, grudges and/or unforgiveness that you’ve carried around to be lifted from where they do not belong. It’s a bigger burden than you realize and one that will make you feel a whole lot lighter, less cluttered and overwhelmed within your mind.

releasing a grudge

Regardless of how much pain was caused from an experience you cannot allow it change you so much that it negatively affects any area of your life. When you choose not to forgive, you are also choosing not to let go and by doing that you are allowing the experience to still own an aspect of your life.

Do you really want to let a negative experience interrupt your life daily, weekly or monthly, at all? When you can’t find peace with something that’s what it does, it causes a rift in your soul, that rift can affect all your relationships, is that fair to you or to them? If you think about it the negative experience is being allowed to not only continue to hurt you but to now hurt others through you, even if you don’t mean to.

The rift in your soul can cause you to feel unbalanced and that is your spirit trying to find a way to be heard, validated and soothed before you spin yourself into an unmanageable state. These signs manifest through your physical, mental and spiritual well-being and can cause and/or mimic serious afflictions within. There is a significant amount of stress you place on yourself through resistance and if you knew all of this from the beginning you would likely choose to feel, grieve and let go but your emotions are the wild card that you can’t control.

I’ve learned that even though my emotions are strong, my spirit is stronger and the voice of reason thankfully is within my spirit, not my emotions even if they do send me off on a tangent every once in a while.

Recognizing and acknowledging my emotions during times of adversity is important and having a really excellent friend to be the additional voice of reason next to your spirits’ is a blessing. At the very least an open ear of someone you can trust to help provide you with a healthy perspective can help you to help yourself find a way into the process and eventually toward letting go.

Even if you don’t reconnect again it’s important to let an experience run its course through all the phases or you risk losing the whole purpose of it. You’ve already endured the worst why stop short of the finish line when your blessing for making it through all adversity is the wisdom that comes at the end.repeating relationship patterns

When starting anew it is important to leave the past in the past and face new experiences with an open heart and mind. It’s wise to remember past experiences and retain the lessons and wisdom you have gained but placing and/or comparing a new experience with a previous one carries overtones that have no place or reason.

New experiences also bring new people, new behaviours and new circumstances and none are comparable to anything from the past, they are new, treat them as such and bring your wisdom!

The Many Faces

What Human are You Being?

You have the opportunity to change the face you may have misrepresented during a bad moment through awareness, understanding, honesty and atonement but are you up to that task?

Do you have the personal honesty to acknowledge and take ownership of an action that that didn’t display the best side of you and the courage to admit a wrong?

They say “you never get a 2nd chance to make a 1st impression” but what about impressions that come along well after that? While you may have made a great 1st impression if you can’t keep the integrity flowing it’s going to be difficult and tiring just trying to keep up appearances.

How others treat you is their karma, how you react is yours – Wayne Dyerthoughts, word, actions

Your reaction to adversity is going to be the best look at who you are as a person for others and the best insight for you on how to change it. By developing your awareness through observation of your own reactions or overreactions you will learn how to control and prevent them from affecting your life negatively.

Allow the human and spirit that reside within you to commune often, it is very necessary and important to promote the growth of this bond. Their common ground will provide and enhance peace, balance and harmony within which is an essential part of your being.

Connection is not unique to one aspect of life it is the foundation of all aspects of life so that they can work together harmoniously. Connecting with others will help to build your relations with them into whatever direction you desire. Connecting with your spirit will enhance and empower your human life toward the destiny it has always been meant for.

Finding your way when you don’t know where to look or begin can be a daunting thought and I’ve found that it begins with connection:

Be Still:  Quieting the mind is the best way to find the answers you seek to specific issues or problems that arise in your life. There is a lot to be said for the quiet, it allows you to hear the solution more clearly than you would ever expect. It also allows your spirit and inner voice a platform to be heard, to be acknowledged and to be embraced. Your spirit has only one purpose and that is to guide you into your best life.

Be Alert:  Awareness of how you affect others is the spirit assistant in your life poking you in the side and saying “that’s not right!”, and being tuned into that is very important. When you open yourself up to that awareness you allow other emotions to feed and fuel your inner knowledge and outer behaviour so that the two can work together and balance each other so you don’t dip too far on the either side of the scale.

Be Conscious:  It’s really important to be present in the moments that matter. There’s no measurement of importance, if you can’t spare a moment of space for someone else then don’t pretend to. When you are consciously aware of your actions, overreactions or inactions I think you will find that you become more aware of how others respond and that awareness will ultimately change your interactions for a more positive trend.

You get in life what you prepare and make room for and there are internal and external aspects that can either enhance or inhibit the abundance you seek. You could end up blocking the space you created for your abundance just by having an attitude that isn’t in alignment with what you are making room for. It’s not just about making the room but also adapting your lifestyle and attitude to be consistent with what you envision.

If you are holding onto anything negative (anger, grudge, resentment, spite, etc.) they will all block that room from ever being filled with your dreams and the more you embrace them the further you get off your path until one day you find you don’t recognize where you are.

Success isn’t just about achieving something but achieving it with integrity and not stepping on anyone along the way. When I envision anything in my future it always contains a level of happiness, peace and balance but if my attitude now doesn’t contain those aspects then I won’t be in alignment for what I seek to come into my life until that changes. Karma has a way of balancing the scales.

Life at times can be difficult and there may be times where you end up blocking yourself simply because a day, week or month has worn itself on you for too long and brought you down but bringing yourself back to connection can lift the heaviness of that adversity and light the sky so you can see again where you need to be.

Talk to Me!

Communication is the Root

Like a speaker is hard-wired for sound, humanity is hard-wired for connection and without genuine communication that connection will never develop the strength it needs to stand tall. It’s so unfortunate that so many thoughts are left unsaid and because of that so many relationships break down and/or fall away.

Communication is the root to that feeling when you connect with someone on a level that feels beautifully isolated from outside effect. All connections have a different feel because your connection with one is never the same as your connection with another, they are always individually unique which is relative to the phrase of how each person holds a special place in your heart. As unique as the person, so is your connection with them, no two are alike.if only you knew

Every relationship carries different meaning, challenges, love and connection but all are as strong as the foundation they are built on. Authentic, direct and meaningful communication enhances, feeds and nourishes that foundation but without it the foundation will get weak.

Personally, I prefer authentic, direct and meaningful, I don’t like it when others speak in code or indirectly mislead, it’s a little too sneaky for my liking and having to decipher a hidden meaning or agenda just doesn’t appeal to me. If your communication is like this then you likely aren’t experiencing the true connections that your soul needs and are causing your own undernourishment. I think you will find much more of what your soul needs if you listen to your inner voice, it is your own personal compass, it is connected to the Universe and it will always guide you toward authenticity.

Everyone communicates differently and learning to understand and respect how each of those unique people in your life communicate with you will be a benefit that will help to prevent barriers and/or walls that sometimes pop up due to misunderstanding.

How I communicate and understand is different from everyone else and vice versa so I can’t very well expect that someone should understand my point of view just by an explanation that makes sense to me unless of course it also makes sense to them. While I do believe that everyone communicates and understands differently, there are times when we find a connection that travels on the same wavelength, kind of like tuning in to the same frequency. It doesn’t mean that it will always be that way for everything I think it just means you’ve found a common ground in a specific area.

It is those areas of common ground that the foundation of understanding begins which opens up the opportunity for unique connection. We all seek to connect with others because it provides us with balance, understanding, meaning and validation that we matter somewhere in this life. The more people you connect with the more your cup will runneth over because these true connections are the lifelines that feed your soul and your soul needs this form of nourishment to feel balanced, whole and at peace.

Listening is the counterpart of communicating and just as important, as is awareness to hearing what is not being said. I know that may sound a little confusing but I think that a lot of times when we feel we aren’t being heard, we stop communicating altogether and if you are struggling to communicate with someone that may be shutting down then you’re foundation may be in jeopardy and the strength and root of your common ability to communicate from the beginning will either build or break it.

I think “way back when” as in 60-100 years back, communication wasn’t recognized for the gem it clearly is. Connection wasn’t within the realm of awareness that it is now because the value of communicating and listening wasn’t realized. I believe people live longer these days not because as we all hear “life was harder way back when” but because the soul is receiving more nourishment by way of fulfillment through connection.

Are You Willing?

To See Your Life Clearly

It’s the first step in that new and unfamiliar direction, the walk into the unknown where anything can happen, your anticipation is heightened and your vulnerability is exposed more than you are comfortable with but those are the moments that you need to push yourself to the next level because they carry your biggest opportunities and realizations.clarity

You know when I was younger I had no idea what was available for me to take advantage of, nor did I have the inclination to gravitate toward it because I had no direction, not for any other reason than I hadn’t yet become aware. You always hear people say “if I knew then what I know now”, those are the phrases you don’t fully understand until you become aware.

Awareness is a gift that can be refused or embraced.

If you are unhappy with your life than you are likely refusing to be aware of all that the Universe is offering to you, maybe your dissatisfaction is preventing you from seeing it. When you build walls to protect yourself out of hurt or fear you are also blocking your vision of possibilities. I understand that the walls built around you are for good reason and they keep you safe from anyone ever getting to you but that’s exactly it. Those walls keep out the bad but they also keep out the good, instead of the walls learn how to properly strengthen your boundaries so that past fear or hurt stays where it should be – in the past!

If you are content and viewing life with clarity than you are likely embracing awareness and your possibilities know no limits. When you are in this zone your vision and opportunities are uninhibited because you know “The Secret”, it’s so true and it’s not a secret, it’s the inner knowing that we all have, the clarity that removes the clouds. When you can see clearly, you see everything almost from a new set of eyes, ones that are not tainted by the dirty energy but rather enhanced by the clean.

I recently watched the PBS Special of Dr. Wayne Dyer’s titled “I Can See Clearly Now”, he is such an inspiration and to me, an icon of our time. I find that my line of thought process is very similar to his which is probably why I identify with his writing so strongly so it’s not surprising to me that the part of the show that stuck with me the most is also the excerpt he put in his latest book which he said also struck him and he credits from another author.

“If we stop for a moment it is possible to perceive a pattern in our lives, the motivators that have influenced us become much more obvious. We are able to see life unfolding from both ends at once coming into the present moment but until we get to a certain point of realization this is not possible because everything is still seen as a series of apparent causes and effects.”

If you take the time to step outside of yourself for a moment as if looking in on your life as a viewer you have the opportunity to see how much influence the divine has on your life path and how everyone that has come and gone from your life has in some way changed it so that it could proceed in the direction it is meant to go.

I don’t believe in coincidence, everything happens for a reason, every experience, every event, every relationship, every hurt, every happiness. They are all there to bring you higher learning, growth, direction and clarity and from that clarity comes this realization. Finding the balance between that which your inner spirit knows (the energy that is connected to Universal knowledge) and the life that you live daily is what makes travelling the distance challenging because sometimes you may accidently step off your path but I believe that if you venture too far off course the Universe finds a divine way to guide you back.

So now that you are aware are you willing? Change doesn’t happen overnight obviously but change doesn’t happen at all if you don’t make the decision to do so. Doesn’t that sound simple? It begins with your decision, that’s it! The next door won’t open without your conscious decision to walk through the first one and even though that first one is scary once you walk through it the ones that follow are easier.

Follow Your Instincts!

Let Your Inner Wisdom have a Voice

There is so much going on in our lives and around us that we don’t have the time or the opportunity to hear what our internal voice or instinct has to say, believe me I know this one! My life for the past year has been drama after drama after drama and I’ve not given my own spirit as many moments as it deserves to recharge, rebuild or revive my inspiration. As much as I want to encourage others to give themselves that time I have to also push myself to embrace it more because it is what makes our souls flourish. Every moment you can give yourself counts!

Everyone has an opinion and most are willing to share it whether you want it or not. Everyone has a direction they feel you should be going in and are most convincing in telling you how you should be living your life but the real question is, what do your instincts have to say? Why are you paying so much attention to what others think you should be doing, why are you not consulting your own inner voice and conscience?

I think we all spend too much time in consideration of what others will think about what we are doing rather than giving consideration to the voice that matters the most, the one inside you that instinctively knows what the best direction for you actually is. The only time I have not allowed my inner voice to have the floor is when I know that a direction or action I’ve taken is or feels wrong. I think we tend to avoid even our own conscience when we know we’ve blurred our line of integrity.I choose

That action itself can have a spiral effect that you may not realize because when you take an action that isn’t even approved by your own conscience a shift in your mind of what you deserve as a result occurs and actions that follow may be against you by you because you are going to deal yourself the punishment. How long will that last though and how do you know when you’ve suffered enough to lighten up on yourself? All of this second guessing and punishment seems almost crazy, if you just consult your conscience from the beginning and listen to your instincts chances are you won’t have to end up in this crazy spiral.

We are here in human bodies and that humanity at times is flawed, sometimes we make mistakes but sometimes those mistakes lead us to a better place in our life by bringing inner wisdom, personal growth and awareness to our soul. Self-punishing is pointless, taking ownership and making amends rejuvenates and revives the soul in ways that self-punishing never will.

With so much going on outside of us it’s easy to get caught up in the daily buzz, next thing you know a week has gone by, and then a month, and so forth and you still haven’t given yourself that time-out to listen to what’s inside your spirit. Taking that time out to stop and smell the roses has so much more meaning than you realize and honestly at certain times in our lives it doesn’t feel possible but somewhere within the 24 hours of a day you need to honor your spirit enough to give it even just a moment to speak to you.

I don’t think many of us realize how much easier life could be if we allowed our spirit to have a voice for even just a moment, it knows your best direction better than you think you do and sometimes when you go against it you are creating more difficulty in your life than if you just went with your natural flow.

There is a mountain of distractions that can easily keep us from hearing the wisdom our inner voice has to offer but those distractions also keep us in a daily routine and life that isn’t productive or pleasurable. It’s easy to put your time and interest into someone else’s life because you either feel that’s your purpose or because it feels fulfilling but I believe that will only last for a while because your instincts know you are supposed to be somewhere else in your life and will keep trying to guide you there, why are you resisting? By this I don’t mean abandon those you feel are connected to your purpose, more like find the balance so everyone’s spirit is equally nurtured.

We are hard-wired to survive but instinctually we are driven to find the greater meaning and connection to our path and each other, intellectually we know that connection cannot occur alone so we need each other. It is what goes on externally that can either impede or inspire your progression on your path, navigating it by utilizing your instincts is not only the key but your saving grace.

Have you ever had the notion that there is something that you should be doing, somewhere else you should be, some destiny or prophecy that you should be fulfilling, something bigger than you that is significant in a way you aren’t yet aware of?

I think that is your instinct trying to put the yearning into your soul so you strive to seek the greater purpose that each of us have and are meant for. Our purposes are different from one another, some are interconnected, some are not but all are a part of the Universal Grand Design that is part of this journey.intuition, albert einstein

I believe we have all embarked on these seemingly separate journeys to develop a deeper connection to our souls, then each other and the Universe, when you come across that “aha” moment of making that connection it’s an amazing epiphany that you will finally realize could not have been stumbled upon any other way than spiritually.

Don’t forget your Gift!

The Seeds of Greatness!

Are at the Core of your Spirit

Peeling back the layers of life that have caused your spirit to be cloaked by any negative emotion as a result of your experiences is what allows your true essence to shine!

Where was I Then?

Your youth is where it all begins, where patterns, habits and learned behaviours are formed. You are meant to learn and grow from your experiences not be crippled by them. If your environment doesn’t contain any sort of positive aspects then your outlook of possibilities may be diminished. Your role models are the biggest influences in creating your view on the world, how they model their ability to deal with life experiences is very influential and will either be motivational or damaging. Some behaviours pass through more than one generation and are viewed as “normal” because that is all you know, especially when you are young. It is only when you start to develop into your own independence that you become aware of the inconsistencies. Most times you seek out those that fit the same behavioural pattern that is so familiar and I think eventually you either break away from it or fall into the same mold because it is too far outside of your comfort zone.

I think the biggest and most crippling aspect of this is that you can end up going through many life experiences without really experiencing them because the pattern is so ingrained that you run on auto-pilot and never realize that there is more to your life than just the day to day run of existence.

Where am I Now?

Asking yourself the big questions that are beginning to resonate in your soul are both important and necessary. If it matters to you, it matters! If you’re feeling like there’s something more that you want to reach for or experience within your life there is never a time when it is too late. All change or transformation begins with a first step – the decision. The decision, which doesn’t sound like a huge step, actually is but following through is even bigger. Once you’ve taken those very critical two first steps you start to fall back in alignment with the Universe (I call it being in the Zone, athletes will totally know what I mean) and the Universe only works to create what is meant for you.

Believe me, we are all meant to experience life positively, it is when we fall out of alignment that things start to go sideways.

Where will I Go?dr suess quote #3

Once you’ve taken on a more positive outlook and continue to search or have found your new path the places you can go become infinite possibilities! Listen to Dr. Suess, it’s not just meant for children!

I strive to inspire, motivate and cultivate all things positive and continue to seek deeper awareness and understanding. Every day I learn, every day I come across new meaning to parts of life I didn’t realize existed and every day I am enlightened, humbled and impressed!

Don’t let negative life experiences prevent you from living the life you are meant for or deserve. Make the decision that “it stops here!” and immediately change direction, you can do anything you set your mind to!

At your core you’re all things pure and good and when you realize the amount of strength you and all of us have been given, success and happiness is just a short period of time away and all it takes for you to get there from here is your decision to do it.

Make the change that changes your life!

The Relationship Within

Be Your Own Champion!

The most important relationship you will ever have is the one with yourself.

I believe the relationship within travels a different path in everyone.  Sometimes we treat others better, sometimes we treat others worse but we should be treating ourselves the same way we treat others because when we start scaling ourselves against each other inner emotions start to feed the ego.  Respect for yourself first leads to respect for others and for life itself, respect is the key component to maintaining healthy relationships and gratitude the key for keeping the ego in check.  A relationship without respect or gratitude will inevitably become toxic and the length of time spent in a toxic relationship can determine the length of time it may take you to get over the emotional damage created from it.

respect yourself

Trying and failing will always be better than failing to try!

Failing to try will lower every form of how your value yourself, taking action will enhance your inner spirit and be a great reminder to you that nothing is going to keep you down.  Action is very motivating as well as rewarding because at the very least, whether success was achieved or not, your self-worth and inner devotion is nurtured, acknowledge and validated.  It doesn’t matter whether you win or lose, of course succeeding is always hoped for and welcomed but it doesn’t define you nor should you let it.  Regret is usually the experienced effect from wondering how things may have turned out had you tried and the best reason for at least taking a shot.  Regret stays with you, it stays there to remind you that you didn’t believe in yourself enough when you needed to and that exact same opportunity likely won’t present itself again.  We attract what we need when we need it and your personal growth and self-evolvement depend on you taking advantage of opportunities when they arise.  They aren’t presented at any old time, the Universe has carefully constructed all the necessary components needed to be in place to ensure your success.  Your emotional state of being, awareness and circumstance needs to be in alignment and the Universe knows when all of this comes together.  This isn’t just a guess, coincidence or dumb luck, everything happens when and how it’s supposed to and you are only asked to trust it and have faith.  If success doesn’t occur it’s not because you are a failure, it’s because it wasn’t meant to.  Success isn’t always what we think it is, I’ve learned plenty of lessons through failure and that is what turns out to be the success.  That education gave me the experience I needed to succeed in the area I’m supposed to, an area that I might not have succeeded in had I not had the experience.  Not everything is meant to work perfectly but all lessons and opportunities are meant to teach and advance us in some way.

What is the Universe trying to tell me?

Don’t drive yourself crazy trying to figure things out, they will become clear when they are supposed to.  Everything happens for a reason, by design, by forces greater than us conspiring to make it happen, nothing happens by coincidence.  Fate or destiny, however you want to label it, all happen for reasons not yet known to us.  Reasons that will eventually become clear at the time you are most open to understanding and/or receiving it.  You aren’t always open and there are times when circumstance detracts your attention and obstacles manifest, whether you’ve attracted them through your thoughts or not.

Remember:  whatever you give the most thought to is what will increase and be sure to keep in mind that even if your conscious thought is thinking about something it wants to attract, your subconscious thought may be thinking otherwise.  These two states of awareness have to be in alignment (working together) to be positively effective.

For example:

–          If you are thinking you want to lose weight consciously but your subconscious mind is telling you that it’s just not going to happen, then it definitely will not happen.

–          If you are thinking you want to quit a habit that is affecting your life negatively but your subconscious comes up with all sorts of reasons as to why it’s not going to work then you diffuse yourself before even starting and it definitely will not happen.

Not all but most of us have a habit of sabotaging our own efforts for a variety of reasons but there is one in particular that is most often behind it all and that is concession; acceptance and acknowledgement of defeat.  Giving up before you even begin to try is a good way to prevent failing but it’s a great way to prevent success, what you don’t realize is that you’re failing yourself by not trying.  You’re telling your inner spirit (the one that you should be nurturing) sorry the ego is going to win on this one because it’s the strongest but in reality it’s not it’s just the one you are choosing to feed.

If there is something you want out of life but you believe you will never have it, you will definitely succeed at never having it.  Your thoughts are more powerful than you may realize so be careful which side of the spectrum you place them.

Positive thoughts produce positive actions and positive results!

No matter what aspect of your life you desire to adjust or improve your heart and mind must be in it together, as long as they are there is NOTHING you can’t do!

Feed your inner spirit first, acknowledge what it needs and thrives on, validate and reward yourself for personal victories along the way and success will surely follow.
